The weight of the blankets are calculated at 10% + 1lb of the recipients body weight. So, if you have a child that weighs 5 stone this equates to 70lbs (5 x 14). Take 10% of 70lbs = 7lbs and add a further 1lb = 8lb blanket. Each blanket or lap pad has one plain and one patterned side. Materials used include cotton, fleece and poly pellets. Mostly used at school or in the car, lap pads are an easier to handle, portable item that can reduce wriggling and help increase the attention span of the user. They can also be placed over the shoulders to help users feel more "grounded"
