The novel and today shows we should celebrate the bubbly libation as well as appreciate the women behind some of the icon names. They were mothers, wives, entrepreneurs, daughters, sisters, and pioneers.

Today we also celebrate the 34-year anniversary of the Women’s Business Ownership Act which allowed women for the first time in US history to apply for business loans without a “male relative.” This law addressed women's challenges in accessing credit and starting their businesses.

It's officially Negroni Week (September 16-22) and this reminds us of our first media campaign when BevFluence partnered with the Ryland Peters & Small publishing house to promote several cocktail books - most notably - Negroni: More than 30 Classic and Modern Recipes for Italy’s Iconic Cocktail written by David T. Smith and Keli Rivers.

The book includes dozens of innovative Negroni cocktail recipes including several versions of the classic: 1/3 gin, 1/3 red vermouth, and 1/3 Campari. More interested are the alternative recipes like the Oaxacan (replace the gin with Mezcal), the Kingston (replace the gin with rum), the Boulevardier (replace the gin with bourbon), the Run Free a& Naked (add cider), the Stout and Steadfast (add a Guinness or other stout), and finally the awe-inspiring Negroni Float.
