I was hesitant to pick up this box of 10 Bolivar Emiratos from Dubai International Airport a couple of weeks ago because I knew a few years back I’ve tried the regional release PUNCH for U.A.E and was not happy about it. I usually stay away from regional releases just because I feel that each brands’ identity gets exploited for the sake of producing a blend for marketing purposes which does not follow the original brand’s to***co leaf blend that we are familiar with.

So if you are wondering why I decided to buy this Regional Release Bolivar, well its because of its history and my experience with it. If you have smoked Bolivar in the past, you know that it has a reputation of being a strong and full-bodied cigar. Also, it comes from the same factory that produces PARTAGAS so you know this baby will be intense.

A little background info about this release. Only 3000 boxes of 10s were made and were released in late 2010 and early 2011. Available in the U.A.E only. My box is lucky number 457

Scotch whisky brand Glenmorangie has released 1,000 bottles of a 25-year-old single malt finished in Pommard wine casks, exclusively available from Heathrow Airport.Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish was inspired by the ‘intense, fruity’ wines that come from the Burgundy region in France.

The limited edition whisky can be purchased only at Glenmorangie’s boutique at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2, which opened in October last year in partnership with travel retailer Dufry.

The liquid carries aromas of lemon sherbet, plums and cherries, followed by flavours of red apples, ginger and honey-coated cashews.

Dr Bill Lumsden, director of whisky creation, is a fan of the fruit flavours of red wines from Pommard, a village in Burgundy.

For this whisky, he selected a Glenmorangie distilled in April 1998 and transferred it into Pommard casks in October 2008.

The resulting liquid is described by Lumsden as one of Glenmorangie’s most delectable wine cask-finished whiskies.

“The red wines of Pommard are among my very favourite wines in the world,” he explained. “And hoping to bring their classic, fruity red burgundy notes to Glenmorangie, I first started experimenting with Pommard wine casks around 2008.

“Created from a small number of casks, and with just 1,000 bottles available, Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish is truly one of the most fabulous and delicious wine cask finishes ever to emerge from Glenmorangie. #

Spain Marks Montecristo’s 85th Anniversary With Aged Ci**rs .The Montecristo brand turns 85 this year, and Spain is celebrating with a limited, exclusive release of Cuban Montecristo No. 3 ci**rs that regional distributor Tabacalera S.L.U. says are at least 10 years old.

Astute observers will notice that the ci**rs are adorned with the older Montecristo bands that were discontinued in 2013 and updated when Habanos S.A. punched up the design with gold highlights and a glossier finish. A new secondary band denotes the brand’s anniversary.While the 85 Aniversario No. 3 ci**rs are exclusive to the Spanish market, Habanos commemorated the brand’s 80th birthday with the global release of the Montecristo 80 Aniversario five years ago.

At the Habanos Festival in February, Habanos officials named Spain as its largest market for handmade ci**rs in terms of volume. Spain was the first country to get an advanced allotment of the Cohiba Novedosos and has recently received other Spanish market exclusives such as the Montecristo decorative ceramic jars and the Regional Edition La Flor de Canos.
