The Town of Woodfin is served by the Woodfin Alcoholic Beverage Control System located at 142 Weaverville Road, Woodfin, NC 28804. The Woodfin ABC store is open 9 AM to 9 PM Monday –Saturday excepting legal holidays mandated by the state of North Carolina. All ABC stores in North Carolina are closed on Sundays. Liquor stores in North Carolina are operated as either municipal or county enterprises, the Town of Woodfin began operations of its first ABC store on June 17, 2007 and has generated sales in excess of $5 million dollars as of September 30, 2009, profits from the Woodfin ABC system are paid directly into the Town of Woodfin’s general fund and to various charitable organizations that aid in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and drug abuse. Woodfin businesses may obtain permits for the sale of beer, wine and spirituous liquor for on premises consumption and may obtain permits for the sale of beer and wine for off premises consumption. It is not permissible for private individuals or businesses to sell spirituous liquor for off premises consumption in North Carolina. The Woodfin Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission is a three member Board appointed by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Woodfin to oversee the operations of the Woodfin ABC System.
