Katniss had another nice run at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway. I got the tires right this time. Her fast lap was a tenth off the second place karts fastest lap. With a bit more consistent driving she'll be moving up !!
Grandpa didn't loosen up the kart enough. It was tight entering which made it loose off. Katniss drove fantastic as always !!

Last Wednesday at Viola. After the nose getting broke from the rough track the weekend before, I heated up the front bumper and raised it about 5°. Then reattached the upper supports in their new position. Relocated the body to match the new position. Now the nose won't hit nearly as much. This is the first test. You can see it was needed for Midwest track conditions...lol
After she got around the girl in front of her. She shaved off .4 seconds off her lap time. .. :)
She's a cautious driver. That's good. ♡ She has plenty of fire as well. It will all come together in time.
Katniss did a great job in her fist race of the season. This feature is her 12th lap on the new ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway configuration. She said she likes it. This feature you can see her getting adjusted better each lap. She caught the field twice, the third time she had a plan...go where they're not, the top side...♡
A great evening knowing we have the speed, just need the seat time. She was flying once she figured it out.
1960 Clinton A490 ported with an unknown aluminum flywheel. Purrs like a kitten...
Just have to get the flywheel cover painted, and a throttle cable mount.
Got the timing set on the Clinton A490.
Challenge was switching the stock iron flywheel out for an aluminum. I have no idea what it came off of, but it fits the crank... it came with the purchase....
Obviously the keyway was way off...

Katniss had another great day of learning.
Won her heat race. Started on the pole for the feature, to lead the majority. But I could see her getting tired. Sadly she let the boy get around her, with not enough time or energy to pass him back.
You always remember tge ones you let skip away. Part of the journey. .....
