Good morning! I’m sure a lot of you have already seen the “for sale” posting of Boondocks. I know there will be a lot of rumors about “why”, so we just want to share with y’all our “why”.
We decided a few years ago to begin looking for an adventure— maybe a retirement plan. So, the Boondocks vision began. It was alot of work and alot of fun just getting the building up to code and finally being able to open it to the public. But we did it! It has been an experience for us—- some good and some bad. But we have enjoyed all and learned from it. The biggest thing that we have taken away from being business owners is that it is very time consuming. We both still work full-time jobs so our plates are running over trying to manage it all. That’s our main reason for trying to sell. As far as “being shut down”, we did close our kitchen to do some upgrades on our well system. All renovations will be totally completed by spring and we, or whoever owns Boondocks at that time, will be ready for business to resume as usual at that time.
We have made the best friends at Boondocks this past spring and summer. We have made great memories and had a lot of fun even through all of the hard work. Those things we will miss for sure. But we know this business has so much more potential for the right buyer/owner. So we are ready to pass the torch to whomever that might be. If spring rolls around and Boondocks is still ours, we will be open for business and we will be ready to see all of our friends and faithful patrons.
I hope this clears things up for everyone. If you have any other questions, please message me and I’ll answer the best that I can. I’d rather you hear things from us than maybe an untruth elsewhere.
