At Shumpert’s IGA the spring months mark the beginning of fresh summer fruits and vegetables. Frank Shumpert and the staff at Shumpert's IGA know they must do something to set themselves apart from the mega stores that dot our area. People just assume that going to the big chain means you'll get a big savings, but I have found that's not necessarily true! I've watched and compared since I met the folks at Shumpert's.
Often, they can offer items at or close to cost and you are the winner of the savings. Their Jackson Bros Farms vegetables are the freshest you can buy. They are picked, washed, packed and delivered to the store's shelves the exact same day! You can't beat that anywhere!
Shumpert's is a destination store. It's a trip you take because you deserve to be treated with respect. It's a trip that you want to take because freshness and taste matters. Cleanliness and fast friendly service are something they take very seriously.
Don't take my word for it. Get in your car in Lexington, West Columbia or wherever you are and punch 861 Pine Street, Pelion into your GPS. Set the cruise control. Maybe stop at a C-Store and see if you can find a Coca-Cola in a glass bottle and take a ride to Pelion. When you get to Shumpert's, tell Michelle, Sheldon or any of the rest of the staff that I said hello.
Can't find what you need, ask Stephen or Melissa. If you're there in the evening, ask for Ray. Go and immerse yourself in the Shumpert's IGA culture. It will take you back to another day.
