Here’s a really fun (and rare) one for and .
Bottled in 2019, this private selection for the Blackout Barrel Group was custom commissioned through Willett to resemble their (discontinued) KBD Vintage Bourbon series.
Some of you may have seen the 17yr green wax, 21yr maroon wax and 23yr black wax Vintage Bourbon bottlings, but this one was released with a unique black and silver label as a 16yr edition. It was also bottled at barrel proof (117.2).

Barrel selection was facilitated by for the .group. They purchased the barrel experience at the “Willett to be Cured” charity auction that raised over $300,000 for the American Cancer Society in 2018.

These were never distributed to anyone outside of the original group and rarely pop up for sale…and almost never in this quantity. That is of course UNLESS you’re 1 west dupont wines ;-)
For me personally, these are some of the sexiest looking (and tasting) bottles in American whiskey. What about you? Have you seen it? Tried it? Like the way it looks? The way it tastes? Tell us in the comments below…

With it being National Bourbon Day and it being Father’s Day, it’s only fitting that we feature a small handful of our VOF, VVOF, and VXOF bottles…these are the original Pappy of the modern Pappy bottles IMO.
For my personal taste, wallet, and everything else, it doesn’t get any better than these bonded Stitzel Weller goodness. The amount of quality whiskey put out in the 50s, 60s, and 70s is simply mind numbing. Even today, these can be had for what I believe to be incredible value….for about the price of a modern pappy 20 or 23 year, you can have history in a bottle from 6+ decades ago - 🤯

Story time : Yesterday was a day unlike any other at the store. I got a message a couple of days ago saying that the one and only was in town and he wanted to come visit our store! Bryan isn’t in DC doing a market visit for . He was actually here speaking at the Memorial Day Concert…..so you can only imagine how honored I was that he wanted to come by…and to find out ours was the ONLY store he was visiting on this trip! 🙌🏾
I got a call then yesterday morning saying “Bryan selected where he’s gonna have lunch with his lovely wife Robin based on its proximity to your store. We’re coming by to hang out and then will walk over to lunch!”
And boy, did we ever hang out?! He and Robin were overly generous and spent well over 30 minutes speaking to me, my family, our staff, customers who walked in. It was simply amazing.
Because of what we do, there hasn’t been a shortage of the number of celebrities that we encounter and spend time with. I can say with confidence that Bryan is easily one of the most humble, kind, caring, funny, and passionate people I have come across. A huge shout out to for making it all happen.
The bonus for me personally was telling Bryan about our private label after finding out that they enjoy bourbon. We showed him a bottle (which he loved) and will be enjoying in his home soon!
This world needs more Bryan Cranstons in it. Thank you again for sharing your time, energy, and passion with us all. Can’t wait for your next trip to DC and do it all over again.

Finding an E H Taylor Barrel Proof is cool and all as it consistently ranks among my favorite releases from and their EH Taylor lineup…but how about an entire vertical of every batch they’ve ever released of it? And then how about doubling down on that and doing TWO entire verticals of it?
Batch 1 was first released back in 2012 and this has been an annual release ever since then. This is made with the BT low rye mashbill (same mashbill as the George T Stagg also made at BT). And while these don’t have an age statement on them, most believe these to be somewhere in the 7-9 year age range. This is also the only expression from E H Taylor that isn’t Bottled In Bond and is bottled at cask strength!

HUGE news for our barrel program. We have a NEW addition to the barrel program.
If you know me well, you know I always like to push the boundaries as much as possible and do stuff that I think is “cool” and fun….even moreso when others aren’t really doing it! So with that being said, I present to you our EVOLUTION BARREL program. Here’s how it works :
Any group or account that wants to buy a barrel has an option to add on a second barrel that we call our Evolution Barrel. You can select anything we have in inventory and we will let you get a chance to see how that particular single barrel evolves over time. This is SUCH a cool experience because you can see the exact same whiskey and how it changes as it ages.
You pay for the barrel (we assume yield will be 150 bottles). You get 12 bottles when we do our next dump within a couple of weeks. And then you get 12 bottles each year thereafter. For the subsequent dumps, you pay $250 plus shipping to cover the cost of labor, taxes, and overhead etc. When your barrel is “empty,” you either get a refund if it was a total output of less than 150 bottles or you pay the balance owed if it’s more. Here’s another benefit to that - in let’s say 12 years, you will get bottles of 21 year old bourbon at $111 a bottle!
Benefits : you get to see the barrel and how it evolves. It will set up for an unprecedented side by side or blind tasting. Your barrel is insured the entire time. You don’t pay anything for storage or insurance. You get WELL aged bourbon a decade or so from now at today’s prices.

I’m beaming with pride today as I announce our Dream Spirits Gin and Vodka. Some fun facts below about our newest spirits :

- They’re both distilled locally and 100% organic!
- The gin is my own proprietary recipe that uses a cane spirit base for a more viscous and richer mouth feel. The gin starts with a hint of pine and juniper that fades away and does a great job of balancing citrus and floral notes! Some very cool botanicals for our gin are lemongrass, white peppercorn, black raspberries, lavender, and orange peel!
- The vodka is the cleanest vodka you will put to your lips. It’s made of 100% local and organic corn…this also makes it naturally gluten free. There is absolutely no bite on the mid palate or finish on this vodka.
We’re 100% craft, not owned by some corporate conglomerate….we are as small business mom and pop shop as you can get. We also donate $1 for every bottle we sell to local charities.
These are starting to hit stores in DC already and will be in some restaurants and bars around town shortly as well. Distribution to other markets is also coming at some point down the road. If you’re local, come by any of our stores that carry it (will make a separate post highlighting those). We will also have it loaded on our website for purchases for those that aren’t local to DC.

It’s the 150th birthday of the one and only Pappy Van Winkle….yes, THAT pappy Van winkle. So I texted a client discussing how cool it was and we put together this small order for him.
Best part of the order is that these bottles will be opened up within the first week of receiving them. He wants to do a blind side by side of these just for fun.
It’s not even close which one will dominate this tasting but it’ll be fun to do regardless. Which one is the first one you’re pouring from this lineup?

There can be only one king! And it’s undoubtedly ’s King Of Kentucky. These have been some of my favorite annual limited releases in recent memory. I can still close my eyes and taste the 2019 from the very first time I tried it.
Last year, BF released a VERY small amount of 18 year old (the oldest King of Kentucky yet). These were all single barrels and cask strengths. These bottles have somewhat become bourbon unicorns in an industry that throws around the word 🦄 too casually. These however fit the bill…ESPECIALLY when you consider the fact that this is a SUPER SHORT single barrel consisting of ONLY 8 bottles. That’s right, that’s not a typo. The entire barrel yielded only 8 bottles. (This is the shortest single barrel I can remember surpassing the Redemption Bourbon 36 years old, which had only 18 bottles).
Needless to say that finding one of these 8 bottles is a super rare treat! How about an entire case? How about 6 of the 8 bottles? We in fact had all 8 bottles from this barrel but 2 were sold out and shipped out before we could get the group picture. So here is your only chance to ever see something this rare, this cool. You know it’s insanely rare if it gets us this excited!

That’s so cool that your local store got Buffalo trace….you mean they don’t have over a case of Stitzel Weller Pappy Van Winkle 20 year old from 2011 and 2012 in stock and ready to be picked up?! It’s not normal for a store to have multiples of not just any Pappy 20 but STITZEL WELLER Pappy 20? Odd, for us that’s pretty normal.
Find out for yourself what all our clients already know…we have everything you want and so much more! There’s rare. Then there’s super rare. Then there are bottles like this! What you’re looking at is a 1 of 5 for the world of a 1982 OFC 1982 bottle in a 6 Liter size….i’ll repeat that….6 effen liters of 1982 OFC bourbon deliciousness. There were ONLY 5 of these made for the world (we own 2 of the 5).
Bottle of 1993 OFC shown just for scale. And even with that bottle there, the pictures just don’t do it any justice. This thing is a MONSTER….a beautiful monster! These beauties were sold only at an auction and all to benefit 5 incredible charities. BT was generous enough to donate these bottles for the cause.
Not confirmed in any way but rumor has it that even the one and only Elon Musk was bidding on one of these rarities.
This particular bottle is headed to what is likely gonna be its forever home home south and be displayed in a gorgeous home bar next to every release that OFC has ever done, including the 1 of 18 1989 release!

Wanna know what kind of stuff makes our day? Unsolicited messages like this one! What a treat to start the morning. This gentleman bought a barrel of 9 year Bookers bourbon and is a whiskey fanatic. Last night, they did a blind tasting with 30 people and our bottle came in first place!
Ever want to know what whiskey you TRULY like? Do it in a blind tasting. Take all bias out of it and let your tastebuds tell you what you enjoy. This is super cool and so much fun to see. The competition is also against all bottles that I really like all from distilleries I love and support! To think we beat out Bowman Single Barrel, Old Fitz 10 year bonded, and the Little Book is something I’m very proud of!

Now, let’s get into this badassery! If you’ve been following our page and our store for a while, you probably know we get access to some VERY cool and very rare bottles. I’m not so sure I’ve been *this* excited by anything in quite some time.
In 2007, sold a very small handful of the one and only Pappy Van Winkle 23 year old single barrels to some customers. This particular bottling is from the rarest of those very rare single barrels….this barrel had a total output of ONLY 60 bottles! A super short barrel of Stitzel Weller Pappy 23 year old is the stuff whiskey dreams are made of.
As if that alone wasn’t enough heat for the page, we had to double down with the 1916 Pre Prohibition McGinnis Rye bottled by George T Stagg….yes, THAT George T Stagg. This Maryland distilled “medicinal use” rye whiskey is simply a stunner. And look at that BOX. That wooden box is from 1929….almost 100 years ago. When I was presented the opportunity to buy these bottles, I immediately said “yes, done deal upon inspection but only if the box comes with it.”
Bottles like these get offered to our VVIP clients first because they show support all year to us. So when there’s a treat as rare as this one, it’s only fair they get first crack at it. This package has luckily found its forever home down south. No lie when I say this was one of the most fun orders I’ve ever worked on! Huge shout out to all those that made it happen!
Like we always tell our clients, we’re not a liquor store; we’re a concierge service. I don’t sell booze…I sell experiences; I sell memories!

Here is a sneak peek at some of the barrels we labeled over the weekend. These are en route to the different groups that did the selection either on site at our distillery in BEAUTIFUL Middleburg, VA or did the selection remotely.
We’re super excited to get these beauties in your hands. We’re even more excited to keep building on this momentum we have rolling currently.

How many stores do you know that have in inventory to fill and order of 1 old rip 25 year decanter, 3 pappy 25 year, and 5 pappy 20 year? And then can follow up with “sure, 8 more pappy? No problem!”

to last week when a client asked to “put together a few fun things.” (And before you ask, yes…..I absolutely made fun of him for adding 5 eagle rare to an order like this).
But first, shameless plug please asking you to follow if you don’t already….we have a lot of exciting things we’re working on and will be sharing with you all soon!
A few fun things at pretty much every other store in the country look quite different than they do at ours. We almost always start with a one off Van Winkle from the greatest distillery and the greatest era for American distilling IMHO.
Stitzel Weller from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s simply has no equal as far as I’m concerned. No one has ever done it better and I’m unsure if anyone will ever do it as well. Luckily for us and for our client, we have those bottles well represented in a lineup like this!

My favorite thing about an order like this? Every single one of those bottles will be cracked open and shared within a few weeks at most. As I always tell people, as pretty as these bottles are, they get prettier when they’re topless.

We don’t just do events, we do EVENTS! Was blessed enough to host a few clients and friends at one of our most incredible collaborations yet.
We partnered up with and to host an event at in collaboration with the incomparable , the one and only , top of the line caviar by , cognac by with some Hennessy Paradis for a toast and XO cocktails!
The theme of the event was Champagne, Cars, Chef, Caviar, Cognac, and Ci**rs (from a country that can’t be named) 😜
To say the guests who stayed the entire time had a blast would be a gross understatement. Best part of the evening aside from the amazing memories made and the sensory overload was that plenty of new friends were made.
When is the last time you saw a bottle of Dom get sabered inside a Ferrari dealership?!
Thank you SO very much to my main dude, Minwoo from for all the time and effort he put into it to make everything flawless. I’ve said it countless times and will say it again and again and again….i don’t own or run a liquor store. I run a boutique high end concierge business. I provide a service. The service is connecting our clients with the most rare, sought after, and desirable spirits and wines in the world.
This client order is just a small example of what we do and can do. This started out with a simple “you won’t believe the Four Roses that I found” and morphed into this.
The client ended up picking up a nice little one-off Van Winkle 4-pack from back in the Stitzel Weller days. We started with a pair of the 1974s, one 16 year and one 17 year. Not to be outdone by the original squat bottle 10 year (believed to be mid 80s bottling) and the VERY rarely seen Old Time Rye. Needless to say, this isn’t your “modern day pappy.” ;-)
The cherry on top on this order for me personally tho is the bottle that started the conversation. This is a PRE 1914 bottling of . I’ll repeat that as I think it’s worthy - PRE 1914! The bottle, the foil top, the fill level….everything in immaculate condition given that it’s almost 110 years old at this point!
Next time you’re in the market for truly something special, you can use up your most valuable asset (your time) and strike out everywhere else or you can come directly to us first!

Pretty hard to find one bottle of Stitzel Weller bourbon barreled in 1963? How about an entire sealed case with matching sealed gift boxes?! I’d say that’s also pretty damn hard….unless you’re shopping at the correct store!
These pictures do not do these stunning decanters any justice. From my personal favorite era of American whiskey distilling, the whiskey in the decanters far outweighs the beauty of them IMHO.
This beauty went into barrel when Dr King gave his world famous “I have a dream” speech and went into bottle the same time that Neil Armstrong was taking his first steps on the moon!
This particular case has found it’s most likely forever home but other such beauties can be yours. We have an unparalleled selection of Stitzel Weller, the single greatest and potentially most important distillery in American whiskey history.
