Brave the cold this weekend to try three wines that are sure to lift your spirits! Join us tonight from 5-7pm and Saturday from 2-5pm.

Sicilian winery Palmento Costanzo’s Etna Bianco Mofete is a truly special experience. Grown in the volcanic soils of Mount Etna, this wine brings plenty of citrus and tropical fruit, balanced by a pleasant salinity and unique minerality. Pair with anything from a light salad to roast chicken or creamy pasta.

Next up is a delightful Lambrusco Rosé from producer Alfredo Bertolani. Light and playful, this Lambrusco brings bright red berry fruits, violets, rose petals, and refreshing acid.

Last up for this weekend from Umbria, Antonelli’s Montefalco Rosso, a blend of Sangiovese and Sagrantino. Typical of red wines from the area, it is packed with jammy strawberry and wild berries, well integrated flavors from oak and maintains a bold structure. Drink now with rich red meat or tomato dishes, or age it for another 2-5 years.

FRIDAY 1/24 5-7PM
SATURDAY 1/25 2-5PM

• Palmento Costanzo Etna Bianco
• Alfredo Bertolani Lambrusco Reggiano Rosé
• Antonelli Montefalco Rosso

Tastings for Friday, January 10, 5-7PM
And Saturday, January 11, from 2-5PM

Welcome in the new year with us for our first tasting of 2025! First up for us, a new non-alcoholic skin contact wine from Sonoma producer, Head High. This wine undergoes low temperature vacuum distillation, a process that carefully removes alcohol while preserving taste, bouquet, and body. Classic for dry orange wine with notes of ginger, dried apricot, and citrus zest.

Next, Mâcon producer Domaine Thevenet & Fils’ Mâcon Pierreclos Blanc, an unoaked Burgundy Chardonnay. Crisp and clean notes of citrus and orchard fruit, with a pleasant palate weight thanks to extended aging on lees, pairing well with any number of dishes.

Last up this weekend, Merlot from Italian producer Zonta Due Santi. The vineyards are located in Breganze in the Veneto, a region with a unique volcanic geography and geology, providing mild winters and fantastic soil for growing grapes. The wine is bright ruby red, with notes of red currant, balsamic, cherry, and hints of dried meat, pairing well with any rich winter dish of braised meat, tomato sauce or barbeque.

HEAD HIGH, NON-ALCOHOLIC ORANGE
Vinified and dealcoholized through vacuum. Impressively complex and weighty, dried apricot, ginger, and orange zest on the palate with well integrated acidity. Great on its own or especially when paired with lighter fare.

THEVENET & FILS, MÂCON-VILLAGES
Refreshing notes of green apples, citrus, and a hint of white flowers.Crisp acidity, harmonious orchard fruit flavors, and a clean finish.

ZONTA DUE SANTI, MERLOT
Raspberry, plum, black cherries, with hints of balsamic and baking spice. Great medium body and pleasant acidity. Round and generous with pleasing sensations of fruit and denotes maturity while still preserving notable freshness.

Come by tonight from 5-7PM and tomorrow from 2-5PM to stock up for all your holiday gatherings and try three festive French wines perfect for serving at any table or given as a gift!

First for the weekend, esteemed Burgundy producer Domaine Billard Père’s La Combe Bazin, a barrel fermented Chardonnay grown in the Saint-Romain appellation of the Cotes du Beaune. Aging in 25% new oak helps to balance the vibrant acidity and freshness of this Chardonnay without adding unnecessary heaviness to the wine. Notes of toasted nuts, sweet herbs, and warm citrus, pair with poultry or fatty fish.

Next, a Bordeaux Rouge from Château Des Collines in the Medoc. This wine strikes a great balance between expressing its ageability and drinkability. Generous notes of coffee, cacao, and gamey meats are balanced by an approachable amount of body, acidity, and plenty of black fruit character. Drink now with roasted or cured red meat, or cellar it for an additional 3-5 years.

Finally, R. Dumont’s Solera Reserve is a unique and delicious Champagne, which is continuously aged under the Solera system. Each year, new wine is added to barrels which contain portions of the last 20 years of wines made, and one-third of this wine is removed to be bottled, in the same way that Sherry is aged. The final product is bursting with toasty, nutty, and vibrant character, making it an instant conversation starter.

Domaine Billard Saint-Romain Blanc
Aromas and flavors of tea, honey, lemon, and a hint of pine sap, balanced with just a kiss of oak. Beautifully creamy mouthfeel. Organic.

Château Des Collines Médoc Rouge
Aromas of black fruits, smoked meats, coffee, and mocha. A medium-full palate, lengthy finish, and round tannins.

R. Dumont Solera Reserve
Lemon curd and apple nose. Rich, creamy, and ye**ty on the palate. Excellent minerality and acidity. Organic. Biodynamic.

First up, from Domaine Alain Gautheron, Cuvée Emeraude Chablis everything you would expect from great Chablis. Bright notes of orchard fruit, citrus, white flowers and a refreshing salinity and minerality. Pair with a rich chicken or white fish, shellfish, or fresh salad.

Next up, from Bordeaux producer Chateau Vieux Chevrol, Lalande de Pomerol is a Merlot based medium bodied red that leans into the fruitier side of Merlot, while still maintaining strong acidity and subtler savory notes.

Last up for this weekend, producer Foradori’s Teroldego, a low intervention Italian red from Trentino-Alto Adige, made with a heavy emphasis on the terroir of the region. Exciting notes of nutmeg, to***co, cardamom, and vibrant black fruits make it an excellent pairing for spiced lamb or grilled pork.

Come spend the rest of your holiday weekend stocking up on new wine! Tonight from 5-7PM, and tomorrow from 2-5PM, we’re trying four wines great for cooler weather and celebrating the holidays.

Italian winery Bisson’s Frizzante Glera is made from grapes grown in Prosecco, but made into a bone dry semi-sparkling wine, with notes of white flowers, green apple, and citrus rind. Perfect as an aperitif or as bubbles for a cocktail.

Moving South to Umbria, the Montefalco Grechetto from Antonelli is a complex white that can stand up to a range of occasions. Big notes of lemon, peach, and almond are held up by a strong backbone of acid and minerality, great for charcuterie, savory pies, or on its own.

Hopping over the island of Crete, restorative winery Lyrarakis’ Plakoura Mandilari is a rich, oak aged red grown at a relatively high elevation of 500 meters. Dark red fruit from partial sun drying and spice and to***co from 14 months in oak combine with bright acid thanks to its high elevation.

Finally, stopping in the Southern Rhone, Hommage a Paul Blanc from winery Mas Carlot is a blend of Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Rich notes of cassis, pepper, black olive, and a touch of spice and structure from the addition of Mourvedre.

Bisson, Glera Frizzante
This sparkling is clean and bright with a sharp, bone-dry expression. Notes of acacia honey, white flowers, green apple, and tart nectarine. Sustainable.

Antonelli, Montefalco Grechetto
Fresh flavors of pear and melon, aromas of hay and chamomile. Well structured, a great pairing with seafood or charcuterie. Organic.

Lyrarakis, Plakoura Mandilari
Grapes are partially dried before being vinified and aged in new and used oak, giving this wine incredible depth and structure, as well as ripe red fruits. Organic.

Mas Carlot, Hommage a Paul Blanc Rouge
Dense and chewy black fruit, pepper, iodine and spice notes, held aloft by refreshing acidity and tannin. Enough structure to continue aging for another decade at least.
