Obituary
Ambrose N.Lee, 80 of Fort Ann, New York passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital following a long battle with COPD. Ambrose was born in Rochester Vermont on September 4, 1943 to the late Willard and Margaret Golke Lee. Later the family moved to Orwell Vermont. Ambrose in addition to his parents is predeceased by his three brothers Willard, Raymond, and Louis. He is survived by four siblings Emry of Phoenix Arizona, Bobby of Canton, Connecticut, Richard and his wife Karen of Cocoa, Florida and his sister Nancy and her husband Bernard Cousino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ambrose enlisted in the military February 3, 1965 and was honorably discharged January 16, 1967. In Ambrose’s later years he could be found at the Getty gas station in Hudson Falls. When the business closed he joined his best friend Tabassum “Toby” Sheikh at the Getty on Route149 and in Warrensburg until he fully retired. Ambrose’s smile and sense of humor could fill up the whole room. There was never a dull moment when he was around. That man could always turn a bad day into a good day. He was full of so much love and laughter. The family would like to express their gratitude to Ambrose’s room mate Bill Robinson for keeping him company and helping care for Ambrose. He also had a great extended work family which included his “granddaughter” Jessica Carson he loved her so much. Also the family would like to express their gratitude to Toby Sheikh, Ambrose’s best friend. Ambrose was so lucky to have a friend like you by his side especially towards his last moments. Anything and everything Ambrose needed or wanted you were always there for him Thank You. Ambrose’s burial will be Wednesday March 6 at 12pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
