Hello friends and neighbors!

Our sincere apologies for the absence of updates. Tal and his daughter got an awful flu this week and have been holed up at home trying to avoid passing their illness to anyone.

The Village Grocery staff have been working diligently to keep things going and be prepared for Lobster Day which is TOMORROW!

Mayor Troy Kingsbury had already started the trip. We would like to congratulate Craig Grenier on winning the ten lobsters. Craig is a very busy man so he gave his spot to the intrepid and stalwart Curtis James!

Please come and join us tomorrow. We are Very Grateful to our staff and our customers. Thank you all so much.

Tal and family seem to be feeling better and hope to be at school and work tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your support.

Hi Friends. We wanted to say congratulations to our Taco Familia on getting Montpelier back and opened up. After a flood and a fire, they are still committed to serving up great food and providing opportunity for their staff and community. Lobster are on my mind!

Lobster Day is October 11th starting as soon as we get water boiling.

We are taking reservations for lobster dinners. They are available but not necessary.

Starting at 10:30 with slots available every half hour. Call 802-496-3354.

Troy is once again making the drive to Maine to grab the lobsters. So many lobsters. A venerable carnival of lobsters. A veritable cornucopia of lobsters. What does that mean for you?

You have an opportunity to win 10 lobsters and a trip to Maine with local artist, former VG owner and Mayor of the Mad River Valley the beloved Troy Kingsbury!

For just $5 a ticket you can be placed in the drawing to ride shotgun on this crustacean cannonball run to and from the coast of Maine.

Departing at 10:00AM on the 10th day of the 10th month of this year from the VG parking lot.

All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Central Vermont Sled Hockey Team. We are so Very Grateful to all of y’all.

We are officially launching lobster day!

October 11, 2024 .

We are selling raffle tickets at $5 per ticket $20 for 5 to accompany MRV Mayor Troy Kingsbury on a trip to Maine to pick up the lobsters.

Troy will be leaving the Village Grocery parking lot at 10 AM October 10 .

This should be peak foliage ! What better way to see the beauty of New England than by accompanying Troy on this trip! You get your pick of 10 lobsters. You get to choose the radio station (outside of WDEV of course). Troy guarantees that your side of the truck will be clean. Most importantly, all proceeds benefit the Central Vermont sled hockey team.

Hello friends and neighbors!

We are back in so many regards!

First off Talmage’s fb account was erroneously suspended for fraud for a couple months and could not access the VG account. They don’t make it easy. Come on Zuck! Do better!!

That being said your access to the Village Grocery has been expanded and improved! We have an almost full staff! We have replaced old faithful. The original Creemee machine and are hopefully operational today. Not to worry we are still running one machine until the second one is fully operational.

We have had another very busy week at the VG.
Royce has been dancing between the raindrops working hard to get our new deck up and expanded.
Tal has been working on the smoker and getting things dialed in on that bad boy.
Kelly has been tirelessly running the Deli and training new staff (we are still looking for some Deli help in anticipation of expanded summer hours).

Hi Friends and Neighbors!

Happy Memorial Day weekend! We will be open from 7:00AM to 8:00PM tomorrow in observance of the holiday. The Deli will be closed but hot foods and breakfast sandwiches will be available.

Mad River Valley Little League is looking for volunteers for the snack shack this week Thursday and Friday 5:30-8ish. Mad River Valley Little League appreciates your support!

Hi friends and Neighbors!

We are marching through spring. It’s been a fun transition from winter to spring to summer. We dodged our fifth mud season which was nice.

We got a new (to us) oven and range we are diligently working on a summer menu update. We thank everyone for their patience with our deli closure on Monday.

Exciting changes on the horizon. Creemee flavors are coffee and vanilla.

46 years ago today the world was blessed with the squalling and screeching howls of a newborn Talmage Jestice joining this mortal coil.

With that same energy the Village Grocery would like to announce that Creemee season has started.

Maple and Vanilla won the day. Voted for by both Troy and Talmage’s daughters it would have “won” either way!
