We are open from 7:30 to 11 tomorrow. We have a large mobile event in Cambridge that is gonna require part of our staff and so we will be open for the morning to get you your favorites … but the shop will close tomorrow at 11.

We figured caffeinating you for part of the day here in house beat none of the day.

Please come load up early. We are grateful as always for your understanding and support of this small business. We feel the love and apologize for any inconvenience. ❤️

It’s hard to believe it’s time for school to start back up! Every year, the summer goes a little faster!

Looks like fun for the littles tomorrow!

✨👶👧🏾🧒🏽👦Tomorrow is Toddler Tuesday!! But instead of a tile, we will be doing footprints on a small canvas on the spot and you can take it home the same day!! 👦🧒🏽👧🏾👶✨

We will be at The Bodega from 11am-2pm, so stop by, get your toddler’s footprints and get a yummy drink while you wait for Ms MJ to finish up the apple print and personalize the canvas for your little one!

Good morning!

Boy do I have a Monday treat just for you!! Let me introduce you to our Iced Dirty Honeycomb Chai….chai with an espresso and honey, topped with vanilla cold foam, sprinkled with cinnamon and light drizzle of honey! She is a dandy folks!

And also, I think this little sign is an excellent reminder for all of us as we start our week! You will never regret being kind. A little bit of kindness goes a long way in this sometimes very hard world!

We are doing another little week long purge while we are cleaning out and revamping some spaces.

Will post pics in comments please comment/reply sold under the pic if you’d like to purchase. Can be paid for via Venmo and picked up at the Bodega during open hours or time arranged for a pickup.

Feels good to be cleaning out some spaces while we reenvision some others. Happy to have some of these things we have had on shelves that we no longer need go to good homes that can use them. 🙂

Thistle Farms isn’t just painting pretty words on the side of their building they are living them. In messy brutiful dignified tremendous ways.

I walked away with new fire in my bones today.

In the middle of crazy and chaos and wishes for a healed up world it’s still love that heals.

… for taking the long way in, using the back door, fighting for fewer parking spaces, and reminding us yet again why we love our peeps so much! ❤️

When cones and a busted up sidewalk happen in front of your front door for extended weeks - every single small business owner shakes in their boots a bit (especially at a time when the industry is already down and cost of product is super high so you’re fighting for every dime to be able to stay and continue to love and serve your peeps) … because none of us can handle sales being down significantly or having to close for days on end. And we know it deep in our heart.

BUT … while our numbers are down a bit from our usual sales … you have shocked us and others watching. Our landlord said to us yesterday, the way people are continuing to show up is completely surprising me. I said oh these are SPECIAL people … they have loved us well through COVID and many other hard days since.

You understood the back door assignment and proved YET AGAIN why this place is so special. Why YOU are so special! We discuss as a staff all the time how we want to handle with very tender hands the love you have shown us over the last 5+ years.

You keep showing up. You keep loving us! You keep teaching and inspiring us if we are honest.

Even when it requires the long way. Even when it requires a bit more patience. Even when it’s less convenient.

And we never want to miss the gift of that. The reciprocity of the love that exists here in these walls and at these tables and over these mugs.

The truth is relationships take time and investment and sometimes hard work. And the best ones exist because they shared time and stories and heart and saw each other through hard days. Including this one. It turns out same rules kinda apply for business relationships too.

So, we never quite know for sure what all these challenges and hurdles are building but we know that so far they’ve built something incredibly special and they’ve solidified a bond with so many of you that we will treasure forever.

Thank you. Beyond our ability to say so. We are beyond grateful for your love and support! You make continuing to fight for it so worth it! ❤️☕️

IMPORTANT!!!

First off, WE ARE OPEN! Our Vienna sidewalks, as you have seen if your eyes have been open, have been getting a little makeover for some time and our little block is getting its turn too! And it started this morning! What we know is for at least the next week (approximately), we will need to use our back door only while they are busting up the concrete and doing their thing. As for parking, feel free to still use the side lot and in back. Please watch your step in our back yard, there is a small little dip and we don’t want anyone rolling ankles or getting hurt❤️

Come and see us! We can watch the diggers from the window while sipping on our delicious coffee! We are here until 2pm today☕️

Don't let the orange cones or cracked up sidewalk scare you away. There's still a path inside and there will continue to be...and if we get to the point where we need to we'll lead you in through our back porch entrance. I mean we're close enough to allow you in the back door now right after 5+ years?! 😉

You may have noticed a little spruce up in our merch area. Our friend, MJ, .studio has blessed us beyond words by adding her gifts to our dining room. That girl free handed that beauty.

We love having fingerprints all over the Bodega from many people we love. I can assure you it has and will continue to be many hands that makes any of this work.

In my experience it’s sooo much sweeter that way.

Well it’s officially the FIRST day of summer and these temps aren’t messing around! 🥵

‼️ Because of the heat advisory and our mobile options being extremely warm inside anyway with all the equipment running - we will not be going out and about to our regular mobile spots this week. We hope to be back next week but it’s really not humane for us to ask employees to be in there for hours in this heat. Thank you for your understanding.

BUT … the good news is we have cooked up some amazing summer lineup options for you while we have been inside this week. So, come see us at the shop and enjoy the air conditioning. 🤪

🥤The Wanna Be Julius - is crazy refreshing and can be made with any fruity flavor. (The orange is traditional and yummo but we have lots of other fruit flavors to choose from). It’s frozen lemonade with the fruit flavor of your choice thrown in and topped with sweet vanilla cold foam. Ah-maz-ing!

🥤The Scotchy Bliss - just rolled out of the test kitchen yesterday afternoon and our staff was in the text thread still talking about it late last night. It’s our Scottish Grogg iced coffee with caramel and cream then topped with butterscotch cold foam. Sayyyy what?! It’s worth talking about for hours afterward. Promise!

Then a couple legends from Bodega summers past are coming back in the lineup with both the …

🎉 CAPRESE BANINI - an open faced plain or everything bagel topped with tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese, basil, and balsamic glaze

Our mobile game is strong for the rest of this week. We wanted to give you a few updates so that you could make your caffienation plans.

👨 I mean dad may need some coffee beans for Father's Day and we don't want you to miss your chance to snag some.

Betty the Bean Wagon (our OG mobile trailer) and Bessie the Brew Bus (our newest mobile love) are hitting the streets the next several days.

🗓️ Thursday - June 13 Betty is headed to Jen's hometown to serve up some drinks and bubble waffle bites at the Farmer's Market. You can find us at the Main Street Church parking lot in McConnelsville from 11 - 1 pm.

🗓️ Friday - June 14 Bessie is gonna show herself off for a little pop up in front of Tomlinson Park on Highland Ave in Williamstown. Stop by for a treat in the afternoon or after work. Bring the kids after the pool. Walk over from playing in the park - whatever suits your fancy. We are gonna try to pop up in some of our favorite small town spaces this summer while we are able - so catch us there and make it a Friday funday!

‼️The shop will be open normal hours (7:30a - 2p) on both Thursday and Friday while we have the mobile events happening as well.

🗓️ Saturday - June 15 Betty & Bessie are both hitting the road. We will be doing our weekly trip to the River City Farmer's Market. If you haven't hit the Marietta Farmer;s Market yet you should certainly add it to your rotation. It's amazing and we love hanging out there on Saturday mornings. Bessie will be serving you there.

Betty is headed to the annual McClinton Car Show where we will be partnering up with the McClinton Chevrolet folks for their annual car show to raise money for great causes.

⚠️ The shop will be CLOSED on Saturday and we hope you'll take this chance to come find us at one of the mobile spaces and support some other small businesses in our community simultaneously. Win - win!

‼️It has been an AMAZINGLY packed May. Full of teacher appreciation events, our first ever wedding, lots of grad parties and events, training a mostly new staff and wrapping up a year of Jen being back in the classroom by day and a business owner by weekend and night. Wheewwwww!

Our staff (with Heather at the helm) have done a BEAUTIFUL job of taking the reigns and continuing to operate the Bodega to serve you well. They’ve risen to the occasion and our capacity has certainly grown - but it has taken MUCH from each of them to take on new responsibilities and duties. Huge gratitude from me for the way in which they graciously did that - taking ownership of the dream that is no longer solely mine but one we each share to some degree. A measure of success for my own heart for sure. A gift beyond words. ❤️

That being said … in order to keep the main things the main things sometimes in small business you have to hit the pause button to truly get a break.

Sooooo Heather is vacationing with her family this week. Jen is traveling with her momma. Our staff is taking a breather and was encouraged to do something good for themselves with a few days off.

Thank you for understanding and being generous and kind and wonderful to us always! We are beyond grateful for our tribe! ❤️ Our love for you runs deep!

We will be back on Friday, May 31st with a suntan, a renewed heart, a rested body, and some exciting new items rolling out for summer. 🎉☕️☀️

Just a Monday morning gratitude post to our incredible tribe for your continued support.

We had our two big spring market events back to back over the past 2 weekends.

We were at last weekend here at home in Mineral Wells and then this weekend took our little trek to Lancaster for Spring at the Round Barn.

This was our first time to take Bessie the Brew Bus (the big truck) with us to either of these and so we know it was a new look but with the same great product and mission. She did not disappoint. She allows us more space and more power to crank out those yummy drinks more quickly.

You were faithful to us and very kind with your support and we made lots and lots of those caramel cloud drinks with that cold foam 🤪. Pretty sure I had cold foam in my eyebrows when all was said and done. ❤️

As I was driving home Saturday evening and looked in the side mirror the most beautiful sunset was behind me in view and looking back the side of that big coffee truck and seeing the beautiful sunset and thinking about all the folks we met for the first time at the markets, friends who said we came to the market just to get your drinks again or this is my favorite part of the market or awww we found you … you’ll NEVER know the way you warm our heart or add fuel to the fire of the dream in those moments.

You’re the reason we keep showing up and we are grateful when we get to serve you wherever we get to do it!

Tis the season when we go on the search for a few awesome folks to add to our Bodega crew!

Training will of course be provided for any of the positions listed but there are a few non-negotiable core values that we believe make the Bodega pretty special and somewhat unique.

So, let’s start with a few questions to see if you or someone you know are a good fit. (Hint: if you answer yes to these we think you’d be a great candidate 🎉)

1) PEOPLE FIRST > Do you love people and genuinely want to serve them? Can you view good coffee as a vehicle we use to attempt to love people who walk through our door? We believe people come first and good coffee comes second around here. We often say we serve coffee so we can love people. Doing things with excellence but in the right order.

2) TEAM PLAYER > Are you able to be energized by fast paced, work hard, get the job done teamwork where all hands on deck help make the dream work? Can you view your job through a wider angle to be part of a cohesive team instead of solely “what’s in it for me” lenses?

3) MISSION MINDED > Can you get behind a mission of “drinking good coffee” and “doing good work?” Meaning will you embrace learning about how being good to every person on the chain from the coffee farm to our cup is part of our story here at the Bodega and then help us continue to tell that story? Beyond that will you help us take those coffee beans and that story and do good work with them in our community and the world?

4) WORK ETHIC > Do you like to have fun and work hard? Like REALLY work hard together toward a common mission and have fun while you’re doing it?
