With the BITTER cold and no one wanting to get out of their car for coffee and turn into a literal ice cube … we are gonna delay our start this morning and adjust our hours a couple hours in the opposite direction.

✅ So for Wednesday, January 22nd we will be open from 10-4.

We apologize for all of the changes this month. Good.ness.

We are trying our best to guess well in the midst of keeping our staff and customers safe and a business afloat in this crazy weather.

You’ll never know how grateful we are for your grace and patience as we do our very best to navigate it well.

❤️☕️ Nice cozy warm beverages AND bubble waffles too! This one has some toasted marsh in there - it’s a great cold weather flavor.

‼️ Just a reminder that it’s Tuesday and so we have some comeback hours extended tonight.

✅ We close for the afternoon at 2 and reopen for the evening from 4-7! Stop by after work and grab a bag of beans or a beverage!

It’s cold out there for sure … but we have a few things to help us all endure it. Don’t be cold alone or uncaffeinated. 🤪😂❄️

URGENT NEED - Every once in a while we get an up close in your face look at the reason and the heart behind why we started The Bodega in the first place.

We always wanted to do good coffee but it was the parts around the good coffee we most loved - the bringing people together the community around causes that matter the rallying of collective goodness.

As I type - we have a friend who has opened the doors of her church building to let anyone in who needs a place to be in this bitter cold. If you could see the picture (which we won’t show to protect people’s dignity) there are many many folks who are needing help. Cots and blankets covering the floor.

If you know me at all you know that a church building as a warming center would delight every single piece of my heart. Faith has feet and I think Jesus would smile at the image of people being cared for in that kind of hands on hospitable way. I know He smiles on my friend Mel and the work that she does. It’s beautiful.

Today she needs some help. Our help.

I am reminded while I hear my furnace running that I am in a position today to be the helper. Not always, sometimes I need the help. But today it’s my turn to extend hands.

I assured her that if i knew some folks who know how to rally around people and help when it’s needed surely it’s the Bodega fam.

So let’s show them some love. ❤️

✅ You may drop any of these off at the Bodega any time this week and we will get them to the Gathering.

✅ If you don’t have time to drop them off and shop but you would still like to give - my friend has offered to be a shopper for the cause and deliver. You can Venmo “sarahbfarish” and please put Gathering Donation in the subject line and we will make sure things get to them.

JANUARY 11

UPDATE - CLOSED TODAY!
Due to messy roads, snow still coming, and baristas who live in places where they are still under a level 3 we are gonna close for today and hope to see you Monday morning at 7:30.

Our roomies will be there from 11-6. Miss MJ is manning the fort at the .studio today so if you’re in town and can safely get to the studio to paint she will be there.

It’s been a rough week for small businesses. Please find ways to love some of the ones you’re connected to. They could certainly use it. ❤️

‼️UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:‼️

We have now made a dairy run and have the supplies we need to do lattes and breves and all the yummy drinks. So we can hook you up there.

We also have bagels, muffins, pepperoni rolls, cookies, croissants, etc.

The rest of our food/lunch items will likely have to wait until tomorrow or the weekend as we need to assess and regroup.

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE

We came in to a very big surprise but not the kind of surprise anyone likes. Our cooler is down and we have to throw everything in it away. So we are going to need some moments to regroup friends and we are asking for your patience while we do so please.

In the meantime, I can sell drip coffee (black or with sweetener), hot tea, 1 lbbags of coffee or Sweet Ash Cookies.

Today is also a great day to purchase gift cards to give extra love and support to your favorite small businesses who are trying their best to make all the things work!

We are sure there are lots of folks who haven’t been out yet and maybe some parents with littles (or bigs) who are needing a little change of scenery! Come on in, grab something yummy and don’t forget, the art studio is open from 11-7 today too:)

If you are needing some of our delicious coffee to brew at home, we can help with that too! And, if you don’t want to get out of your car to come in, give us a call and we can make arrangements to bring it out to you!

One of our customers (and also one of our new baristas) sent me a message this morning and said … “jungle nut in my mug this morning.”

Doesn’t it look so cozy?

Sounds like we are gonna need some cozy for the next few days. We are watching closely to see what the weather will do and will make decisions accordingly for the safety of our staff and customers.

In the meantime - bonus points and maybe a gift card for a free drink if you show off your mugs and tell us what flavor Bodega coffee you’re filling them with at home while you’re cuddled up with your blankies staying warm in the snowstorm.

A shameless plug for the fact that you can buy 1 lb bags of coffee in a variety of flavors to brew in your home coffee pot for moments just like these. ❤️☕️

Had a slumber party with this one last weekend and snapped this picture and thought … this girl is living the life out of every single second of this day.

Please note she got decked out with purple streaks in her hair, those press on nails she labored over, and her face in her hot cocoa with red velvet whip cream.

| HAPPY NEW YEAR |

Posting this graphic one more time so you’ll be able to see the next few days of our holiday hours to take us through this week in case you missed them.

We are closed today for New Years but .studio is open from 12-5 for you to go paint something pretty on this first day of the New Year.

We will have extended hours the rest of the week while people are still home from school and we are still celebrating holidays together.

We will keep you posted on what hours will look like after that.

Enjoy your people, sit still long enough to ask yourself what you want this New Year to look like on December 31st of next year, be gentle with yourself, and then take a step toward that. You matter too. Just a friendly reminder 😉
