There will be a public comment hearing at the Vergas Event Center in regards to replacing the front awnings of the liquor store. The proposed remodel would replace the current fabric awnings with a covered patio.

If you have any questions or comments, you can attend the public hearing on Monday, March 31st at approximately 7pm. It will immediately follow another public hearing that starts at 6:30pm.

Here at The Vergas Liquor Store, we hear statements like this all year long. From out-of-state tourists to locals from nearby towns. We agree! Vergas is an amazing little town and it’s all thanks to you!

There is a huge list of businesses in and around Vergas that make this town great. I attempted to list them all, but chose not to so I don’t omit any. All these businesses give back to the community in some way or another. Whether that be donations, volunteering their time at one of our many events, or helping attract more people to the area. I wanted to share how The Vergas Liquor Store gives back to Vergas.

As we wrapped up 2024, I was pleasantly surprised to see the financials for The Vergas Liquor Store. We are a Municipal liquor store, meaning the city owns it. Not me, and not my family. It is owned by all the citizens of Vergas. And that means all the profits go back to the citizens as well. Hence the slogan, “Where all the profits, profit Vergas”. In 2024, The Vergas Liquor Store put over $106,000 back into the community. Let me repeat that - $106,000!!! If we were a privately owned liquor store, all of that would go into 1 person’s bank account. Instead, our profits go to making the Vergas area more enjoyable for everyone. Most of the profit goes into the city’s general fund, where the city council decides the best use for it.

I want to thank all the staff at The Vergas Liquor Store for all their hard work, long hours, late nights, weekends, and holidays. You guys rock!

From all of us at The Vergas Liquor Store, we thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for helping make Vergas such a great little town. Please continue supporting Vergas and all its businesses. Together, we’re all making Vergas the best little town in MN! Here's to a fantastic 2025 🍻
