La Onda Marea En Flor 2020 - A lovely blend of Cinsault/Carignan from Preston Vineyards in Sonoma. A balanced blend of rustic and elegant red fruit, juicy acidity.

La Onda Amor Amarillo 2018- Sauv blanc / Semillon from Sierra Foothills that reminds me of some of my favorite reductive Jura wines, crisp and salivating white wine.

Join us for a special prix-fixe menu dinner with Chef Tomas Scarpetti at RESTO on May 31st and June 1st.

Originally from Argentina, now based in the Basque Country, Tomas has spent the last 30 years traveling the world and cooking with the likes of Francis Mallmann (Patagonia Sur), Alex Atala (D.O.M.) and Ignacio Mattos (Estela).

Tomas combines a lifetime of experience with his love and dedication to nature to create simple, vibrant, honest food that is always connected to the place it came from.

The time has come! We are pleased to introduce RESTO, a series of food and wine pop ups this summer curated by Midtown Wines. These pop ups will not be at the wine shop and will vary in form (from coursed out dinners to bar takeovers to everything in between) but will always, always be in the pursuit of giving our community the extraordinary hospitality and delicious food it deserves. Midtown Wines has been an extension of our home: a place for us to welcome new friends and deepen connections. RESTO represents the next addition.

Thank you for cheering us on when we expanded from the trunk of our car to our neighborhood wine shop, and thank you for your support as we evolve once again.

Wines of precision and pleasure:

Henri Chauvet quit his job in insurance banking to pursue a life in winemaking, and during a road trip, fell in love with Auvergne and its incredible terroirs. He studied under winemaking legend Thierry Allemand in Cornas, and in 2021, he took over a domaine which holds 12 acres of Gamay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay, and has produced some of the most vibrant precise wines the region has to offer: unsullied representations of Auvergne, captured in a bottle.

Left to right:
“Au Chant de la Huppe” - Co-fermentation of Gamay, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay.

“Rescapés” - Rose of 100% Pinot Noir.

“Tout la Haut” - 100% Gamay from two separate parcels of basalt and marl soil.

“Qui Sait” - 100% Direct pressed Gamay “Blanc de Noir.” Only 1 left already 😅

Open Tues-Sat 12-7, and Sun 12-6. Come say hi!

Physically closer to the Loire than to Burgundy, Raphaëlle Guyot is painstakingly reviving abandoned vineyards and bringing new life to an area forgotten about since phylloxera days. Hark! Midtown Wines tote bags are here! Handmade using upcycled fabrics by Ventura’s own Brooke of .outcreative, you’ll never need another tote again. Each bag has a unique patterned pocket on one side, and two perfect wine bottle pockets on the other.

Take it to the park, load it up with sandwiches (these bags can hold over 20, I’ve checked), or bring it to your next farmers market day. These lil hotties are for sale on the online store and at the shop and going quick (we’ve only got 10!) so run, don’t walk.
