Did you know that there are approximately 3,800 independent liquor stores in New York State, contributing to local economies and employing thousands? Allowing wine to be sold in grocery stores would put many of these stores out of business and cost thousands of people their jobs. The convenience of picking up a bottle of wine in a grocery store is simply not worth running small stores out of business and costing your fellow New Yorkers their livelihoods.
