Warm up with a Hot Bourbon Cider!
Ingredients
ā¢ 2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
ā¢ 4 oz Spiced Apple Cider
ā¢ Ā½ oz lemon juice
ā¢ Ā¼ oz honey simple syrup
ā¢ Ā¼ oz cinnamon simple syrup
ā¢ 2 dashes Angostura bitters
ā¢ 2 dashes black lemon bitters
Preparation
Spiced apple cider: Simmer local apple cider with cloves & allspice. Let it simmer to pick up the flavors.
Cinnamon Simple Syrup: Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water & 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Bring to a simmer and stir periodically. As soon as it starts boiling, take it off the heat and continue stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Strain the cinnamon through cheesecloth.
For each serving, heat spiced cinder, lemon juice, honey syrup, and cinnamon syrup until piping hot but not boiling. Pour 2 oz of Belle Meade Bourbon into a mug, add the cider mixture and bitters and stir to combine. Have fun with the garnish!! You can use apple slices, cinnamon sticks, or get fancy with clove studded lemon slice.
