Penn State Racing is a student run organization tasked with designing and manufacturing a formula style racecar for the annual Formula SAE competition at Michigan International Speedway. At this competition, teams from all over the world are judged in both static and dynamic events including: cost, design, business, acceleration, autocross, and a grueling endurance race. The competition provides s

tudents with an opportunity to apply their engineering, organizational, and communication skills in an industry-like setting.

Penn State Racing is proud to present it's 2018 vehicle! This Team has worked tirelessly to completely redesign, manufacture, and test this car. We thank all of our supporters who make this project possible. Stay tuned for updates on our performance at the Formula SAE Michigan competition in just a few weeks!

We invite all of our supporters to the Bryce Jordan Center this Thursday, April 26th at 11:00 AM, where Penn State Racing will be unveiling it's 2018 vehicle for the first time. After 2 semesters of diligent design, manufacturing, and validation work, we are ready to share the product of our hard work with all of our supporters. This vehicle is built upon Penn State Racing's first ever carbon fiber monocoque chassis, an accomplishment this team is very proud of.

We would never have had the chance to participate in this amazing project without the support of our generous sponsors. We are grateful for the resources, materials, and expertise donated by you all.

Over Spring break, we also visited the Ford Motor Company and their affiliate to conduct aerodynamic testing on our 2018 vehicle. This so happens to be the same exact wind tunnel that the high performance Ford GT was developed in! We are grateful for Ford's continued support.

We are done with endurance, we got 8 great laps in then on the 9th lap we had some battery issues and the car couldn't start back up. We are so proud of our team this year, we did great at competition. Designs are already underway for our 2018 car! See you next year in Michigan

We compete in the morning heat of endurance today, we run 33rd. Be sure to keep an eye out for us! Good luck to our endurance drivers Ryan Henderson and Alex Walsh!

We got all drivers through autocross, accel, and skidpad today! Great job Ryan Henderson, Jason Gaydos,Alex Walsh, Alex Banfield and Lucy Blevins 🏁 next we will get Ryan and Walsh to the practice area to warm up for endurance tomorrow!

We passed sound and brakes and all 5 drivers passed egress! It's a good day for Penn State Racing. Hopefully we can get some testing in too!
