A little backstory as to why we have decided to make this sauce:
One day I was craving a special flavor from my childhood days back in the old country. I went to a local Filipino supermarket chain and didn't find the garlic sauce that I wanted. You know, the one sauce made by that one brand that rhymes with 'shbaggi.' I tried another local smaller store, and then another, but not one bottle was found. In my frustration, I called 'skaggi,' after staying on hold for about 45 minutes, I then asked them why they were doing this to me and will they stop treating me this way anytime soon. I even offered to be the their brand ambassador that sold the item for them here in the US for free. I was laughed off over the phone, deservedly so, but all they mentioned was that the product is no longer sold within the country. So then I turned to social media, specifically approaching one's that were from countries that may have an easier time getting ahold of the garlic sauce. No chance of that company pulling through for us little guys. Should I have just written a strongly worded letter to 'shmeggi?!' NO WAY!!! In my desperation, I've found determination which then gave me the strength to beg the wifey(like a real man) to come up with something that would remind me of the good old days. She ended up with this balanced, wonderfully savory and versatile homemade garlic sauce that takes me back to a time before I was paying bills and taxes. Just because the mass produced stuff has gone into the bright shiny light in the sky, does not mean we should go on living without a wonderful flavor in our lives and I've learned to accept that after a short grieving period. We don't need to get into that, those were dark times and I'm not 100% okay with it even today. Bottles are $3.00 each for 5 oz. each bottle, and we deliver. Damn shame we had to resort to this.
