The 2019 University of Alabama Majors Fair was a huge success. Economics and Finance had many freshmen students interested in careers in our department. The Helms’ Scholars did an excellent job in representing our amazing department. Roll Tide !

Information about joining the Alabama Finance Association:

AFA is wrapping up a great semester. Although we only have one meeting left, we want to afford to you the opportunity to try AFA and hopefully join us as a member next semester. We try to promote interaction between the academic and business worlds by bringing speakers to campus from around the country. Participation in the association helps develop leadership skills, in addition to providing opportunities to exchange ideas with leaders of the financial community.

So, if you are interested in finance or business in general, come to our next meeting on Monday, November 9th at 7:30 PM with Geico in Bidgood 125. Geicois bringing several representatives and their Southeastern Regional Vice President to speak about their company and employment opportunities. Be sure to dress business casual, bring your resume, AND come hungry; food will be provided. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and to speak one-on-one with the representatives.

Students who would like to learn about the University Scholars program in Economics and Finance should plan to come today, November 3, at 4:00 PM to Alston Parlor, located on the 4th floor of Alston Hall. The University Scholars program allows students to obtain their undergraduate degree as well as the masters during their four years here on campus. Please come and learn more about the program.

The Majors Fair is this Thursday, October 1, from 10 AM to 3 PM in the 3rd floor Ballroom of the Ferg. Come check out the Economics and Finance majors offered in the EFLS department! We'd love to talk with you and answer any questions you may have. Hope to see you there!
