Way to go Carter's Compost (!) so glad to partner with you - we helped to divert 5,000 pounds of food scraps along with farm grown biomass at Lightwell Lavender in 2024!

It is the official first day of winter! We extended the drop-off season at Lightwell Lavender 💜 this year, but with the arrival of the snow ❄️ our season has come to a close. THANK YOU to everyone dropping off at this beautiful farm - we processed over 5,000 pounds of food scraps on the farm this year, in addition to all the farm "waste" as well! 👏 Can't wait to harvest some amazing compost next year 🌱

The application to join the next round of Carbon Cohorts is open! Your land stewardship can contribute to our carbon solution.

Carbon Farming and Forestry Cohorts are peer-to-peer learning experiences for small groups of land stewards in Northwest Lower Michigan that focus on land-management practices that (1) reduce greenhouse gas emissions and (2) sequester and store carbon. The program includes peer-advising farm tours and six workshops focused on planning and implementing climate-smart practices.

Beautiful start to the day! Great day for to get set up at the shop for her pop up featuring her handmade artwork, jewelry. You’ll see new uses of lavender in our shop from featuring our English Hidcote lavender known for its deep purple appearance, among other qualities. Lavender aromatherapy discussion and meditation in the field at 12:30 today and tomorrow, and essential oil distillation demonstrations until 2! Open 10-3 Friday and Saturday, open to all no appointments needed✨
