As most of you knew one of the reasons I shut the store down was to spend more time with my kids. My oldest son has Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1. Pathfinders is a great organization that provides education, resources, assistance and training for all things Autism. This was founded by Ex-Oriole BJ Surhoff. My family is participating in the 1 mile fun run (walk in my case Lol) this SUN. If you want to get some exercise for a good cause register and come on out! I want to start by saying thank you all so much. The love and support over the past couple weeks has been amazing. Seeing all of these old faces, hearing all these great stories and memories of your time spent in the store has been truly heartwarming. The amount of you that have come in and grabbed something big or small has been crazy. So crazy that there is almost nothing left to sell you guys. So thank y’all so much for helping me get rid of so much stuff.



The only negative is that we will be changing the closing date of the store to TOMORROW Sunday 2/19/2023. Again you guys did such a good job of clearing us out that I really do not have much left to get rid of.



We have zero waterpipes or rigs left. We do still have: 3 Glass Pipes, 15 Wood Pipes, a handful of honey straws/nectar collectors, a handful of concentrate and flower vapes, S*F MD/Orioles/Caps/Ravens shirts in Adult S and M, a handful of Union Craft Brewery Shirts and Sweatshirts. We do still have a ton of Incense, rolling papers, bangers (no 14mm Male 90), stems, 19mm slides, greeting cards, stickers, perfume oils, and silicone containers.

There are some odds and ends floating around that I haven’t mentioned. But that’s pretty much it. I just can’t see any reason to stay open another week. So, the last day at the store will be Sunday 2/19/2023 from 12PM-5PM.

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for everything for the past couple weeks and past 27 years. The fact we made it this long is a testament to the awesome customers we have had since we opened. We couldn’t have done without you guys!! ❤️⚡️💙

What a long strange trip it’s been!

As some of you know we have stayed open for an extra couple months as we tried to find someone to take over the store. We had a couple of interested parties that were trying to purchase the store and keep it open. Unfortunately, the last of these possible deals fell apart this week. I really am sorry that I could not get a deal to keep this place going. It was my hope to find someone that would carry on the legacy of The Other Side for years to come. I just can’t keep doing it and had to finally put a hard stop date on it. So sadly, we will be officially closing the store for good. The last day here at The Other Side will be Saturday February 25th. We will be upping all the discounts for this last run. Everything in the store will be at least 60% OFF until we close.

I want to thank everyone that has stopped in these past couple months. It has been great to see all these faces that have been coming in here for the last 27 years. Thanks also to all the old employees who stopped in to say hello and just had to wait on some customers for old times sake while they were in here. This store was truly a special place for so many people, myself included, filled with so many great memories. As excited as I am for whatever might be next for me, there will also be some sadness to not being part of the store anymore.

I do have a favor I am asking from anyone who sees this. PLEASE SHARE!!! Look the powers that be in the social media world have banned stores like mine from being able to pay for ads or boost posts through their platforms. The best way to get the word out is y’all! So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share this post. I got a bunch of stuff to get rid of and I am sure you know someone who wants to take advantage of a 60% off SALE at The Other Side.

So in keeping with the vibe of the store, we are gonna leave this brokedown palace. To everyone from customers to employees, to vendors to my Towson neighbors, I say Thank you…for a real good time. I will keep on truckin’ but for now The Other Side and I…We bid you goodnight but you know that a love for real not fade away.

The Other Side will be closing at 4PM today for New Years Eve. We will also be closed Sun Jan 1st and Mon Jan 2nd for New Years. We will be reopen on Tue Jan 3rd at 11AM. Hopefully we will have a big announcement one way or another about the store next week for the future starting in 2023 and beyond! Hope everyone has a healthy happy and grateful New Years! These are the people we will miss the most, the roughly 200 or so kids who spent some of their college years working here before they all went on to make their marks on the world! What a long strange trip indeed.



After some conversations with my family and some personal reflection I have made the incredibly difficult decision to shut down The Other Side. My wife and kids want me home more and I really want to stop missing things in their lives so I feel like this is my only option. I tried to find a buyer to no avail, so we will proceed with a going out business sale (25%-50% off everything in the store) starting immediately and running through October 22nd.



50% of small businesses fail within 5 years. The Other Side celebrated its 27th birthday a month ago. So, let’s not be sad that it’s going away and instead be happy that it was around for over a quarter century. This store has created so many great memories and relationships for me over the past 25+ years that made this decision one of the toughest I have ever had in my life. At the end of the day my family and I realized that I haven’t been happy in a while and the store felt more like a prison trapping me there forcing me to never see my family, cancelled vacations, and generally missing out on life.



I am choosing family over business, life over work, happiness over frustration. I will post another longer message later, but for now, I simply say Thank you…for a real good time!
