Your Shoalwater Bay Planning Department will be hosting one last community development feedback session on August 4th during the Yellow Brick Road event. They would love to see all Tribal Members and family stop by to provide their input into the future Economic Development Strategic Plan for the Tribe. Stop in and see them at the Shoalwater Bay Museum between 11am and 2pm! A draft presentation will be provided during this years General Council meeting.

Welcome party people! Tokeland Cannabis is partnering with the famous cannabis cook Mary J. White to host an evening cooking class! The event will be held on May 6th from 5 pm-7 pm in the North Cove space. Mary will teach attendees about cannabis, the decarboxylation process, complementary cooking flavors in cannabis infusions, and how to cook with cannabis. Along with this, each attendee will receive 2 take home dishes from the event. Only 30 tickets will be available so make sure you get one ASAP! Tickets can be purchased and picked up in store at Tokeland Cannabis. You must be 21+ to attend the event. For the purposes of this event, only h**p will be used during the infusion process.

Ticket pricing:

$249 the VIP ticket package will include a one night hotel stay at the Tradewinds on the Bay Motel, an “Every Day Mary J.” cookbook, a Tokeland Cannabis t-short, and the 2 hour infusion class with 2 take away dishes. These tickets will only be available until 4/29. Valued at $300! *Guests will need to put their own credit card on file for damages and deposits and if the guest cancels or doesn't show they are accountable for room charges and/or fees per Tradewinds policy. WDFW approves razor clam
digging planned at coastal beaches

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) shellfish managers confirmed coastal razor clam digging reopens at Long Beach on Thursday, March 23 in addition to digs planned at Twin Harbors, Copalis and Mocrocks.

“For the first time this razor clam season, domoic acid toxicity is below closure levels coastwide in Washington,” said Bryce Blumenthal, a WDFW coastal shellfish biologist. “We still have plenty of harvestable nice-sized razor clams on all beaches for some equally great digging during the first daylight low tides opportunities of spring.”

Future tentative digs during morning (am) low tides are scheduled (digging extended to 1:00 p.m. on April 12 only):

Not all beaches are open for every dig, so diggers are encouraged to make sure their intended destination is open before heading out. WDFW will announce digging opportunities via the WDFW razor clam webpage when marine toxin tests show it is safe to do so.
