Weekly Fishing Report:
Blue River: September 30. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 75°F and clear. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass good on buzz baits, crankbaits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits, topwater lures, and tube jigs around brush structure, channels, creek channels, shorelines, and w**d beds. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, punch bait, stinkbait, and worms around brush structure, channels, and rocks. McGee Creek: September 27. Elevation is 4 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 79°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Crappie slow on minnows, small lures, and tube jigs around brush structure, dam, docks, and points. Largemouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, buzz baits, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, plastic baits, and topwater lures around brush structure, docks, main lake, points, rocks, and standing timber. Channel and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, shrimp, stinkbait, sunfish, and worms around channels, creek channels, main lake, and riprap. Report submitted by Shay Loudermilk, game warden stationed in Atoka County.
Texoma: September 29. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 85°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Bass, Striped good on live shad and topwater lures around channels, flats, main lake, and points. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, PowerBait, punch bait, and stinkbait around coves, docks, main lake, points, and river mouth. Crappie fair on caddis flies, grubs, hair jigs, jigs, and minnows around brush structure, channels, coves, docks, and points. Comments: Fishing this week has been good. Striper have been good on live bait and seeing some topwater as well. Catfish are good near river channels and cleaning docks. Crappie are biting on jigs around brush piles in open water and around docks with brush. Report submitted by Garrett Beam, game warden stationed in Bryan County.
