👇This picture. You know those stories that start out, 'I knew them when'... Well this picture is the start of that for me.

On the left is 14 Spice seasonings made by one of my old college roommates (and Stillwater native) Mik Germain, who is rocking his craft everywhere I turn...He has a successful restaurant, created his own spice line and the best Hot Honey I've ever had, is on Twin Cities Live more than anyone I know, and has won a ton of awards in the restaurant scene.

But I knew him when.. we were cooking Hamburger Helper at 2AM after dancing all night with our roommates in Mankato...Proud of you Mik! Boy has your cooking (and my sleep schedule 🤣)
changed from those days!

If you don't have his spices and hot honey in your kitchen arsenal, you should definitely stop down and load up!

And then there is Proper Bartender on the right, made by Joe Ehlenz. I knew Joe when his hair was spiked and tipped blond, and he was slinging drinks at Phil's Terra Hideaway. Tim and I would sit at the bar, and he would talk to us about the restaurant he wanted to open someday...and look at him now!

If you don't know who Joe is, he and his partner Brad (and I'm sure their wives) have had their hands full creating Lolo American Kitchen Stillwater , Lolo American Kitchen Hudson , Stillwater Proper , and Lolito Stillwater . When their first restaurant opened (Lolo), oftentimes they would meet at the old DG, and we would get sneak peeks of their design. It has been so fun watching the evolution of the beginning dreams and seeing them absolutely rock the restaurant scene!

But back to Proper Bartender...This tincture (Gluten and sugar free), is absolutely awesome to have in your cabinet! It's delicious in smoothies for an extra kick, it's awesome in Margaritas and other cocktails, and I absolutely love it in my homemade electrolyte drinks I make. It would also make a great gift!

Over the last couple of years, we have expanded into a small amount of retail at the DG. Each item is made by local friends, and I just couldn't be more proud to highlight them in our store! You can find everything we sell in our kitchen cabinets at home as well! Stop down today and load up! You will not regret it!

Happy Saturday!

I'm calling this picture 'Morning Reflections'. I took this early in the morning, inside the DG, and through the window overlooking the deck. I thought it looked cool, and it messed with my head a little.

The inside melted into the outside in this picture. A mashup of reflections. The Espresso Cafe sign is floating in mid air and our menu board and awning are surrounding the sign. So weird.

Anyhoo, I thought it was a fun picture to stare at and see what you could see that really isn't there from that angle . Enjoy 🤣

The sun is shining, school is almost out for the year, and we are fully stocked with the most delicious summer smoothie...Mango with a few dashes of Proper Bartender habanero tincture 👇. We called this the 'Jessica Rabbit' last year, and it is my favorite smoothie ever!

Don't let the habenaro flavor scare you either. Blended with the sweet mango, it's a perfect balance. Not spicy, more of a flavor you want to keep sipping because the blend of those two flavors together are perfect!

Do not let this flavor pass you by! It is shockingly delicious and the perfect summer drink!
