This is their Mezcal San Luis Potosí, a mezcal made from green(!) agave, a plant native to the deserts in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí (surprise!). This full-bodied mezcal features tasting notes of lime zest, clove, and mint. Pair this with aged goat cheese, lychee, or ruby chocolate.

This week, we're drinking 100% Napa-Valley-grown The House Cabernet Sauvignon from The Vice. Made from grapes grown across six different vineyards in Napa, this wine features tasting notes of ripe dark berries, warm spices, and Cuban cigar wrapper. It was aged for 12 months, half in new oak, and also split between French and American oak.

What we're featuring this week is #63 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2024 list, Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Brut Blanc de Blancs. This 100% Chardonnay Champagne features tasting notes of peach skin, ripe pear, Marcona almond, and orchard blossom. It finishes with notes of seaside air and Maldon flake, so pair this with smoked pork, shellfish, or oysters, which is probably also a shellfish!

Celebrate this New Year in style by trying a new-to-you Italian amaro!

This week, we're checking out Amaro Della Sacra from Antica Torino. Made in Piedmont, Italy, this amaro features botanicals such as green cardamom, cinnamon, myrrh, and Madagascar vanilla, giving it tasting notes of bright quinine and creme brulee custard. Inspired by traditional monastic recipes, it works beautifully as a digestivo and can be sipped neat or on the rocks with a twist of lemon.

Wine Wednesday coming at you a day early this week because this is some very time-sensitive material! This week, we're in the festive spirit, and that means drinking glühwein! Meant to be consumed warmed, St. Christopher's Glühwein (glue-vine) is a fruity, sweet, spiced wine known to tourists in the Alps as an "after-ski drink,” or for you, a delicious salve after Grandma completely destroyed you in Yahtzee. It's a game of chance! No one is actually "good" at it!

Many people make their own glühwein by simmering whole spices in with their favorite off-sweet red, but if you don't have time for that, come in and grab one (or three) bottle(s) and be the life of the party this Christmas!

Bloodforge is a Straight Bourbon Whiskey aged for four years and features tasting notes of caramel, vanilla, and marshmallow. The mash bill is comprised of 66% Corn, 30% Rye, and 4% Malted Barley, so you also get a nice rye spice note on the finish.

Today, we're drinking Alta Mora Etna Rosso from Cusumano Winery located in the Etna DOC of Italy, which is located in the areas surrounding the largest active volcano in Europe, Etna!

This wine is crafted entirely from the rare, sustainably grown, Nerello Mascalese grape, and sits nicely at 13.5% ABV. This very dry red pairs excellently with a hearty roasted tomato & red pepper soup, or with spice-foward poultry or pork dishes.
