Ballard Octopus Club

Early Octopus Club records indicate that the sole
purpose of the club was to promote and perpetuate merriment and good-times in the Ballard area. Originally the club was for "octopuses only". However , in the 1920's squid and giant krackens sued to be allowed to join the club and won. Today , Humans are allowed to join in the fun and
are not required to learn the secret club handshake which invo

lves eight hands. A quote from the original club rule book says the following: " All
Ye who have fun and Merriment in Ballard are by this decree honorary members of Ye Old Ballard Octopus Club!" .
