This Sat. June 28 come to the shops for our inaugural in-store tasting with Grosgrain Vineyards, of Walla Walla, with winemaker Matt Austin.

In 2014, Matt and his wife Kelly left their careers in LA for a new life in the Pacific Northwest.

After Matt returned to school to study enology and spent time working with several Washington wineries, they stumbled upon a small vineyard on the Southside of Walla Walla.

Planted with uncommon varieties, those 5 acres became Grosgrain Vineyards, a wine company dedicated to championing underdog grapes, sparkling wines, restrained reds and sustainable farming practices.

Matt will be at the Ravenna store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Queen Anne store from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30.

This Sat. June 21, come taste the Lambrusco these folks were proud to celebrate more than 130 years ago.

Cleto Chiarli Lambrusco began in 1860, when Cleto Chiarli, a restaurateur in Modena, Emilia-Romagna, decided to bottle the Lambrusco he was serving at his osteria.

Today Cleto Chiali produces some of the finest examples of Lambrusco grown in the region.

If you have a not-great opinion of Lambrusco based on Riunite and its knockoffs from the 1970s and '80s, it's time to rediscover this wine, which has been redeemed by this winery and others.

Join us at the Ravenna and Queen Anne shops for this free tasting, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

We'll be pouring Triennes wines made by this trio this Sat. May 31, part of our regular Saturday free tastings.
French Burgundy OGs Jacques Seysses, left, founder of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, right, co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, along with good friend Michel Macaux, were convinced that great wines could be produced in Provence, France, in the Var, an area better known for quaffable rosés than complex, world-class reds and whites. So they purchased an estate in 1989.

As evidenced by the rave reviews from the press and trade, their efforts have been successful. Over the years, Triennes has been transformed from a neglected parcel in an obscure, little regarded region into one of the top wine producing estates in Southern France.

We’ll be offering a rotating selection of Triennes wines throughout the day, from 11:00 – 5:30, at both the Ravenna and Queen Anne shops.

Hope to see you soon!

Our regular free Saturday tasting May 17 features left bank Loire Valley wines from Fabien Duveau.

Fabien is a young winemaker and represents the 8th generation of his family estate, that he became responsible for in 2008, after taking it over from his father.

The vineyard is located in Chacé, about 3 miles South-East of Saumur. Chacé is one of the most renowned areas of the region for the Saumur-Champigny production, because of the deep bed of tuffeau and the layers of clay and sandstone over it.

His cellar and his vineyards are neighbors of the local star, Clos Rougeard. Fabien ages his wines in a stunning cave from the 14th century, where the constant chill and humidity create the perfect environment to store wines.

Our friends from local distributor Joyous Society will be pouring selections at both the Ravenna and Queen Anne shops.

Daniela’s family started selling grapes from the family vineyards in the 1940’s and began to produce their own estate wines in the 1960’s.

Fast forward a couple of generations and the winery is now firmly established as one of the region’s top producers and we invite you to come and meet Daniela and try her family's wines for yourself!

This Sat. May 3, we'll be pouring a selection of wines in the $15-$20 range from the Mas des Bressades winery, in the Southern Rhone region of France.

Bressades means "to rock," because the vineyards here get rocked by the Mistral, the strong, cold, northwesterly wind that blows from southern France into the northern Mediterranean.

Wine production in the area, the Costières de Nîmes appellation, is dominated by reds and rosés, made from the traditional Rhône varieties: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

Bressades winemaker Cyril Marès goal is to preserve the terroir's qualitative potential as much as possible while respecting the vines and soils. "In each wine, I seek harmony between the different origins and components of the wine so that everyone feels, when drinking it, the pleasure I had in making it."

This Sat. April 26, we're pouring wines from Borgogno, made under the management of Andreas Farinetti, who's family created the famed Eataly empire.

Founded in 1761, Borgogno is believed to be the oldest winery in Barolo, Piedmont, Italy. Andreas' dad bought it in 2008 and put him in charge.

Nice gig. But Andreas is modest about his luck, saying in an interview with Dissapore, "I know that it is an undeserved merit, that it is a great fortune, and the aim of my next forty years of work will be to make up for this luck."

We'll be pouring a rotating selection of Borgogno Barolo, Barbera, Fresia and Riesling, among others.

Hope to see you soon!

This Sat. April 12, come taste Washington wines from Devium winemaker Keith Johnson, for free.

Keith is best known as the winemaker for Sleight of Hand. That producer gave then-young Keith a shot at making his own wine.

Based in Walla Walla, Keith calls his wine Devium in part because he explores "the outer edges of Washington viticulture. High elevation, north slope ... I also want to explore extreme minimalism in the cellar. I'm looking for the root of what it is to make a wine in a certain way," Keith told the Wine Write blog last year.

Keith will be pouring at the Queen Anne shop, and his distributor-partner Jon Marvin will do the same at Ravenna.

We hope to see you soon!
