Friends of Sears Island is now taking registrations for free “Science Magic” grab-and-go activity kits for children. This kit will include materials to help kids conduct several exciting science experiments at home! Write with invisible ink, erupt a miniature volcano, make spiders “dance,” and create your own bouncy ball! Instructional handouts for these activities plus other experiments that use common household materials will be included.

The kits are free and intended for children ages 5-12. Donations to Friends of Sears Island are always gratefully accepted to allow the organization to continue to offer programming to all at no cost. Activity kit quantities are limited and will be distributed to families on a first-come, first-served basis. To request a kit for your child, please email [email protected]. After receiving a confirmation email, families can pick up their kits at the Carver Memorial Library in Searsport between February 10 - 21.

Friends of Sears Island’s children’s programs and activity kits are sponsored by First National Bank.

Hey Camden friends your chance to meet the artist behind the pies and get some great food!

Next weekend we will be serving at the 34th Annual U.S. National Toboggan Championships! (Jan. 31-Feb. 2.) Race days are Saturday and Sunday. The weather looks awesome, so come out and spend the day with us and bring your appetite: Cheese The Day, Portable Pie Place, The Red Barn, Sea Dog Brewing Company Camden and The Portland Hunt & Alpine Club will also be there with Rukus serving a variety of food and beverages!
