Itβs finally fall! π Some may call autumn βbaking seasonβ and for good reason! Check out our simple tips to make baking easy and fun this season.
π Use Whatβs in Season β Fall is famous for pumpkin spice, but donβt stop at just the spice! Try using pumpkin puree in your baking for moist breads and muffins, especially when paired with cinnamon-sugar and pecans. Apples are another versatile fall favorite. You can substitute applesauce for eggs or oil in many recipes, and adding chopped apples to muffins or breads creates a deliciously moist result. Donβt forget sweet potatoes! Their smooth consistency and mild flavor are perfect beyond just pie or casseroles.
π΄ Make Simple Swaps β Just like swapping out eggs with applesauce, there are many healthy and easy substitutions. Dates are a natural alternative to white sugar or honey and can be chopped, blended into a paste, or made into syrup. Itβs a great way to βveganizeβ recipes that call for eggs or honey while adding sweetness and texture.
π₯§ Have Fun β Baking is all about experimentation! You might discover a new favorite recipe. Make it social by getting the kids involved with apple oatmeal cookies, hosting a pie-baking party, or spending a date night in the kitchen creating seasonal desserts.
Embrace fall in your own way. For those who love to bake, now is the time! For those that are looking for some inspiration (or some snacks and sweets already prepared!), stop into the Palm & Pantry. π | #SphinxDateCo

Fun Ideas for Cold Weather Days
Phoenix is known for its π΄ palm trees, warm weather, and more than 300 days of βοΈ sunshine that invites residents and visitors alike to enjoy the great outdoors. But for those winter days that are cold and dreary, Sphinx Date Co. offers some fun indoor ideas!
𧦠Snuggle Up β On a super chilly or rainy day, give in to the temptation to just chill out! Snuggle up with a good book or gather the family for a Netflix binge. Get out the blankets, pop some popcorn, make some tea or hot chocolate and just enjoy the βthrill of the chill.β With so much societal pressure put on being constantly on the go or being productive, there is nothing wrong with enjoying a little downtime.
π² Get Out the Crock Pot β The good old-fashioned crock pot may be collecting dust in favor of an Instant Pot or air fryer, but there is nothing like a slow-cooked crock pot meal (think stew or soup) on a cold winterβs day. Take a little time to chop and then toss it all in and go about the day until itβs time for dinner. Utilizing the crock pot for meal prep is also very efficient β cook one big meal and then portion it out for the week. Have fun exploring new recipes and then choose a few stews, soups, or crock pot meals to cook for now and later.
πΌ Go In When Going Out β On a cold or rainy day, hit a local bowling alley or check out a museum or one of those special-event exhibitions that have made their way to the valley. So many people think of all the great outdoor activities to do in Arizona, but there are some great indoor ones, too! Spend a family day or a date night βgoing inβ when going out.
π Play Cards β Invite friends and neighbors over for a casual night of cards. Pick some age-appropriate games for a night with kids or just adults. Donβt overthink the food and beverage aspect. Invite guests to bring their favorite beverage, then set out some light bites and break out the cards! Swing by the Palm & Pantry for some great local artisan snacks an
