After 20 years, I've decided that it's time to retire. Therefore, The Vineyard Wines & Spirits will be closing at or near the end of February.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:
All wines are discounted 20%
All spirits 750ml and larger are discounted 10%
This will continue as supplies last because I will no longer be ordering any wine or spirits.
This was not an easy decision to make. After all, for the past 20 years, this store has not only been my means of earning a living, but it's also been a labor of love. I've made several friends through the business during this time (and probably more than a few enemies), so it's tough to say goodbye.
The simple fact is, I'm getting older and cases of liquid filled glass bottles are not getting any lighter, so this is as good a time as any to call it a day.
I've often joked that "owning a business is like being married, but without the s*x," and it's true. It requires care, attention, and devotion.
But it's time for a divorce from the business, and redirect my attention to something that really matters—my family, and getting back to things I love doing but have been unable to for 20 years, like creating artwork, fishing, and even some travel. It's been far too long since I've seen some of my friends scattered around the country, and I hope to rectify that.
So, I'd like to say a hale and hearty Thank You to all of you who have patronized the store these past two decades, shared your lives and stories with me, and laughed with us during our countless Friday evening wine tastings.
So, stop in, stock up, and save some money in the process.
