We often get asked the question--can the cows handle the cold weather? In fact cattle are very tolerant in colder conditions and we make sure they have all of the proper resources to thrive. Extra energy with lots of available feed, dry bedding and plenty of fresh water. In fact cattle do much better in cold weather than the heat and humidity of summer temperatures. So thanks to their thick hide, insulating winter coat and with the heat generated by digestion our cows do much better than their human caretakers!!

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our sheep herd and making more available to our customers. We will have a whole lamb ready for butcher towards the end of March. It is available as a whole lamb or two halves. $9 per pound hanging weight (usually 50-70 lbs), and the customer pays for processing directly to the locker. If interested please let us know as soon as possible. We will have several more available throughout the year as well as individual cuts for sale at the store.

One of the most comprehensive studies done on the impact of beef on cardiovascular health. Peer reviewed and brings the positive health benefits of red meat, especially lean beef like what we provide on the farm. With our emphasis on quality feed we are proud of our USDA Prime grade and happy to provide it in our community.

Research from the Indiana University School of Public Health should help mitigate some of the heart-health concerns that opponents have lobbied about beef.

Due to the unfortunate passing of the matriarch of our farm family Mary Curran we will be closed tomorrow. Mary was a constant source of love and support for all of us and will be deeply missed.

Come see us tomorrow for our last Sunday of 2024. We have lots of great holiday gifts available for you to browse and our tap house will also be open to enjoy. We will have NFL football on to watch, a fire to roast some marshmallows and the cows and goats will be available for you to see. We are open from 11 am to 4 pm and located at 905 South County Line Road just west of Harvest Chapel Church in Sandwich.
