As we bid adieu to our esteemed Beverage Director, Phillip, we reflect on the incredible journey he embarked on with us at Arlequin Wine Merchant. For the past seven years, Phillip poured his heart and soul into curating unforgettable wine experiences for our cherished patrons.

From sourcing high-value wines to acquiring rare limited-production gems, Phillip’s passion and expertise shone brightly in every bottle he recommended. Whether it was a special occasion or a casual gathering, his dedication to providing exceptional service and unforgettable wine selections enriched the lives of countless wine enthusiasts.

Arlequin Wine Merchant has been privileged to serve our local community with Phillip at the helm. His impact and legacy will forever be ingrained in the fabric of our establishment.

With the currently chilly weather this is the wine to warm you up!

Costers del Priorat Pissares 2019

This is a classically bold and warming concentrated Priorat wine. It has ripe fruit, memories of the Mediterranean brushwood and a sharp, cold note which is the characteristic mark of the llicorella slate soils’ extreme minerality. Finishes with firm tannins. 

Pairs well with red meats and hearty stews!

Remelluri makes concentrated, structured Rioja reds from all estate fruit. With its sweet nose of black cherries and cassis, this velvety reserve bottling is well-balanced and offers great length. This is a wine with great aging potential. An excellent match with steak or rack of lamb.

“This wine changed my life”

Good medium red. Knockout nose melds raspberry, minerals and flowers complicated by smoky soil tones. Sappy, intense and vibrant yet silky too, with an exhilarating rose petal quality to its red berry and mineral flavors; really captures the inner-mouth tension and precision of the vintage. Finishes with superb horizontal tannins and outstanding mounting length. Impeccably balanced from start to finish.
