November 25th! “Join us for a Special “Friendsgiving” Celebration in Honor of Lorenzo Scarpone and his beloved home region of Abruzzo. Lorenzo, a pioneer in bringing Slow Food to the San Francisco Bay Area, worked closely with Carlo Petrini and Alice Waters, helping to shape the local food and wine scene we cherish today. With Northern California’s Mediterranean climate, we’re fortunate to collaborate directly with local farmers, allowing us to truly understand the origins of our ingredients. Abruzzo, known as Italy’s primary source of saffron, will be at the heart of our menu. We’ll serve a traditional saffron risotto and offer a selection of local Abruzzese cheeses. In honor of Lorenzo, we’ll also feature wines from his family’s Colline Teramane Scarpone Montelpulciano d’Abruzzo as well as other Villa Italia Imports wines such as the rare offerings from Bosco dei Medici, produced within the ancient walls of Pompeii. We invite you to gather and enjoy an evening of exceptional food, wine, and stories, celebrating Lorenzo’s lasting impact on the Slow Food and Slow Wine movements!
