“The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation”. “Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever”. -unknown Tequila La Santa (NOM1414) was born in 2014 as a tribute @mauibarrahar beloved mother, Aida Harfush Ron, the mother of six sons, who, as we say in Mexico, is a saint. In 2018, after the passing of our father, Aida was devastated; having been married to him for over 50 years, she needed some comfort. To console her, we decided to take her on a trip to Lebanon, given her Lebanese descent, with a layover in Dubai. After a wonderful meal, Aida mistakenly ordered a cappuccino topped with gold leaf, thinking the waiter had said “golden beans,” believing it to be a special coffee from the Middle East. We insisted that the waiter had said “golden leaves” and joked about how we would pay for such an expensive coffee. She didn’t believe us until she saw the cappuccino covered in gold leaf, and then she laughed out loud for the first time since our father’s death. That moment was so memorable that @mauibarrahar decided to add real gold leafs to @tequilalasanta tequila , as this mishap brought her back to life in a way, reminding us that every moment should be cherished and that we should strive to create and celebrate golden moments.
