The Whiskey Row Series’ 1924 10 – Year – Old is a limited annual release celebrating another milestone in Old Forester’s storied history.

During Prohibition, more than 200 distilleries were forced to close. Old Forester, however, continued operations because the federal government issued us one of six medicinal licenses, P-3. In 1924, Old Forester acquired barrels from closed distillers, with different mash bills, and bottled that liquid as Old Forester. This release commemorates that moment in time.

As part of their ongoing support of Mexican culture, the Jose Cuervo family commissions a Mexico-based artist to design original artwork for the collector’s box each year.

The 2023 collector’s box is the latest edition of custom art, titled “Structuring a Landscape”, designed by Mexican artists Gabriel Cázares Salas and Rolando Flores Tovar of the Mexico-based Tercerunquinto Collective (translates into English roughly as “a third of a fifth”) founded in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1998.

The Tercerunquinto Collective were selected as this year’s artist collaborators due to their meticulous art process that involves heavy field research. To create this year’s box, the Collective first visited Tequila, Mexico – the birthplace of the iconic spirit and home to Jose Cuervo – to understand the most recognizable parts of the agave landscape.

Lot One of the Malted Barley Series is Wolves’ first Single Malt expression. These 12 barrels were distilled in 2015 in an antique alambic brandy still, from two-row pale malted barley, and fermented with California Ale yeast. A range of oak treatments from light toast to Char 3, along with alternating Hungarian and American heads, were applied across the 12 barrels. 11 of the 12 barrels were blended together and bottled at 110 proof for this expression

A wolf in sheep’s clothing, the sheepskin label is printed with UV light, and laid by hand in Los Angeles.

Nose – Maple syrup, orange, currant, vanilla, and honey

Tasting Notes – Dark chocolate, port, stone fruit, oak, oats.

Finish – Steady resolution, front to back.

In celebration of Master Distiller Billy Walker’s half-century long career in the whisky industry, we are delighted to unveil the final bottling in The Past, Present and Future Series: The GlenAllachie 50th Anniversary Future Edition.

Not only is this 4-year-old single malt our first peated release, but also the first ever distillate produced under Billy Walker’s ownership of The GlenAllachie Distillery. Hinting at future endeavours, this expression has enjoyed a lengthy fermentation of 160 hours. The resulting ester-rich and fruity spirit was then matured in former Rye and Bourbon barrels, as well as some virgin oak casks. Made with mainland peat, this amber-hued spirit offers up a distinctively smoky yet sweet flavour profile bursting with sweet cinnamon apples alongside smouldering oak.
