Well, like the poet Robert Burns said “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry”. We are still open for business at Liquors Etc. A late real estate closing, the winter storms, and my procrastination in boxing things up sort of changed our closing plans. However we are back on track and you have an opportunity to secure some real bargains. I had a customer come into the store this week and asked why I hadn't protested the conflict in the Ukraine by pouring out all my Russian vodka. He was specifically referring to bottles of Sobieski and Stolichnaya. I told him that these were not made in Russia and that got me wondering where do my imported vodkas come from. I made a list of imported vodkas I sell and where they are made. I think you will find this list interesting.
Absolut - Sweden, Belvedere - Poland, Ciroc - France, Grey Goose - France, Ketel One - Holland, Kohr - Ukraine, Krol - Ukraine, Sobieski - Poland, Stolichnaya - Latvia, Svedka - Sweden, and Tanqueray Sterling - Great Britain. On the domestic side, Popov, Taaka, and Tvarski are all made in the United States.

The war in the Ukraine will certainly affect production of Ukrainian vodkas and future supplies. If you want to show support of the Ukraine by drinking their vodkas, then grab some Kohr or Krol while you can still find it.
