At last we have grapes! We got our Malvasia for the Amrita in the winery as well as a new varietal called Picpoul. Both have such great acid and beautiful aromatics and are already fermenting peacefully

The Rose bubbled over and then went dry which means time to put it to bed until bottling. Meanwhile the red grapes are taking their time ripening. This Malvasia though for our Amrita is tasting great but also still low in sugar. Playing the waiting game

Ran my pack down at Stanly Ranch yesterday to take my first fruit sample of this season. Going to pick some Pinot early for Rose this year. “It’s delicious, sweet and not too tart” said Bodhi. The Brix are 18.3 so picking it next week. I’ve been harvesting from this vineyard since 2000- so hard to believe!

We have new wines in the bottle!! It was a successful day- in under 4 hours we bottled up 6 different 2022 Roses and whites. Happy times for sure. Hitting the market soon

This photo was just this November and just yesterday my incredible Auntie turned 94. She is wise beyond words, more with it than I am most days, drives, makes all her meals and drinks vino!! Love you Tante Glo

The seasons are changing here. The rains have come and it’s cold. Captured a rainbow driving today then decided I needed an older Pinot to warm my bones.

We’ll that’s a wrap for harvest 2022. Picking fruit that is- not for all the wine work still to come! Finally found some Sangiovese to crush this year. Sorted out heaps of raisins (in my hand and that small tray) and put in bins to await fermentation.

Got Pinot Noir, Malvasia and Rose fermenting now and I’m leaving the winery. Yikes!! But it’s for good reasons- heading to VA tomorrow! Reminder to book your spot at Zoe’s VB 5:30 Thursday. Time to drink some vino!!
