Mom and babies will be going to one of our fosters. She will need x-rays to make sure she has delivered all the babies and can wait for her spay! We need to send food, and lots of supplies to Jen. If you want to help this family and meet the pups in May, please donate whatever you can
Last night, I received a call about a sweet Mama in Missouri who was taken in by a pound that employs the heart stick method for euthanization. Given the flooding and displaced animals, it was essential to remove her from the pound, particularly since she may have had puppies recently or was ready to give birth. This afternoon, when the AC went in, they found she had 9 puppies, with one not making it. Although she was initially in a safe place to deliver, she is no longer safe, and her situation is now code RED. We cannot provide assistance without a foster, as we can not bring her and 8 puppies to spend 8 weeks in a kennel. The staff is able to pet the mother and pick up the puppies, and she seems thankful for a chance at survival for herself and her puppies.
