ButcherBird 58% update for 2024. We are full speed ahead for AirVenture 2024. Full airworthy fuselage will be completed by end of May. Spars, retract system and landing gear are being worked out in CAD. Hardware is largely available except for newly designed specific parts.

I was shocked at the room in the monocoque FW190 that is ButcherBird. My WAR FW190 has the wood structure and is very tight. I am 5’10” and my head just touches the canopy in the WAR. This is bc the seat is a flat piece of wood and is placed within the box frame.

The monocoque build adds 1 1/2” depth due to removing the wood floor. Adding a contoured seat gives much more headroom. I believe a 6’1” pilot will be very comfortable.

There are two canopy types that FWs used during WW2. Mine is the more common. Later in the war they added a ballooned canopy that gave better visibility.

Infusing the largest composite part of ButcherBird. Five ports were used to get complete coverage.

Getting closer. Parts will come quickly after the prep work.

Our regular businesses have been taking some of our time from ButcherBird. Rest assured we will have a fuselage part early next week. We are welding up steel framing for the two top halves. The parts have been separated.

Update for Wednesday, 28Jun. Molds will be finished this week. Parts will be made next week.
