A gorgeous and gorgeously accessible Brunello di Montalcino, the Cantina di Montalcino is the area's only cooperative; bursting with fragrant, dried cherries, sage, orange, and baking spice, this bottle couldn't be more perfect to grace your holiday table. Visually clear, bright, lively garnet red. Bouquet has hints of undergrowth, aromatic wood, small fruits (blackberry, currant, cherry), light vanilla and composite jam. Taste is elegant and harmonious body, it is enveloping and has a long aromatic persistence.
95 point @james.suckling
"This has a complex nose of black plums, cloves and cigar smoke. Lots of chocolate. It's full-bodied with good depth and intensity. Firm but ripe tannins. Chocolate and cherries on the finish."

"Cantina di Montalcino is a co-operative which sources from all areas of the Montalcino region. The 2016 Brunello, which was aged for two years in French and Slavonian oak barrels, offers aromatics of black plum compote, smoke, vanilla, violets, and tar. The palate is full-bodied and mouth-coating with blackberry jam, leather, and cocoa. It has richness and depth, with an approachable modern feel."
#MariettaCellars Week 🍷 This week we're celebrating Marietta Cellars by offering great deals on their 90+ line up of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and red blends.
Marietta Cellars is located just outside the little town of Geyserville in one of California's premier wine growing regions, Sonoma County. Owner and winemaker Chris Bilbro initially founded Marietta Cellars in 1979 in an abandoned cow barn. Over the last twenty-two years, Chris has developed a product of incredible consistency both in quality and price evidenced by the high scores and low prices. The grapes are primarily from Sonoma and Mendocino County and grown in older, dry-farmed vineyards with limited production per acre. These are grapes that produce wines with the maximum concentration of fruit and complex flavors.

A truly unique #ThanksgivingWine, the 2017 Au Bon Climat Hildegard White Table Wine will definitely spark conversation among your wine nerd friends and family. It's a rare blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Aligote that's both weighty in body, but light and layered in taste - absolutely perfect for autumn fare. Hailed from a highly regarded winemaker and winery, the Hildegard field blend received a massive 94 point score from Vinous - write up below. You'll definitely be giving thanks for this wine...
🍷
@vinousmedia - "The 2017 Hildegard Estate White, Jim Clendenen’s Pinot Gris/Pinot Blanc/Aligote field blend, is impeccable in its balance. Tropical notes and a kiss of new French oak add an exotic flair to Pinot Gris/Blanc orchard fruit, lemon confit and floral notes. The 100% new oak is beautifully integrated, but it is the wine’s overall balance that really stands out. In 2017, the Hildegard is naturally a bit richer than it usually is, and yet all the elements are very nicely woven together. It remains one of the most unique and compelling wines of Santa Barbara."

We're keeping Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais week going with this beauty: 2015 Fleurie Clos des Quatre Vents is a well crafted Gamay. Deep, dark cherries dominate the nose and flavor profile, along with blueberries, a hint of vanilla, and touch of spice. What really stands out is the weight ... it's a dense wine with broad shoulders drinking nicely now, but capable of mid-to-long aging. If you're popping one open now, but sure to give it a good swirl ...
Sip and repeat. Happy National Drink Wine Day! What are you drinking to celebrate?
