Chilled to the bone? Warm up with this caramel and apple hot toddy with cinnamon
Here something to keep you warm during this cold winter. There is no better way to warm up than with a hot toddy. Fireplace optional, but highly recommended.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup (150g) caster sugar
2/3 cup (165ml) apple juice
4 cinnamon quills
2/3 cup (165ml) apple pie liqueur (we used Moreau brand â substitute Calvados)
Whipped cream, to serve
Ground cinnamon, to dust
METHOD
1. Place sugar in a medium heavy-based saucepan over high heat with 1 tbs of water. Cook, swirling pan, for 5-6 minutes or until golden and caramel. Using a metal spoon (and being mindful of the steam), stir in 2 cups (500ml) water and swirl pan until caramel and water are combined. Stir in apple juice and cinnamon quills, then stir in the liqueur.
2. Divide among glasses, spoon over whipped cream and dust with cinnamon to serve.

For your Halloween party.
The Witches Brew
The Witches Brew drink is a Halloween cocktail with no standardized definition. Itâs often bright green, blue, or purple in color, and it can be served as a punch or shaken as a cocktail. This spin on the Witches Brew uses bright green melon liqueur and lemon juice to make a classic-style cocktail with a deliciously sweet tart flavor. Hereâs what youâll need:
Midori, a Japanese melon liqueur
Cointreau or Triple Sec, an orange liqueur
Fresh lemon juice
Dry ice, optional (read all the safety information below first!)

It bubbles and boils with a constant stream of smoke: which makes it over-the-top fun! Itâs great for Halloween or anytime you need a ghoulish sip.
Ingredients:
Vodka
Chambord, a popular raspberry liqueur
100% cranberry juice: make sure to buy unsweetened, not cranberry juice cocktail!

Who else loves Halloween drinks ?
The ZOMBIE COCKTAIL
Though the name might make you think of all things spooky, the Zombie is a citrus-forward Tiki cocktail that will have you thinking about a day at the beach before you think of an invasion of the undead. This version, and the original created by Donn Beach in the 1930's, has 3 types of rum in it. Legend says that the first person who tried this strong cocktail felt like a zombie for days afterward. But after we drink a Zombie? We mostly want to hustle to the nearest pool party!
This recipe comes to us from the ever famous Jekyll and Hyde's in New York City. It is one their most popular cocktailsâand the one that's most likely to catch people off-guard with the shot of 151 floating on top. Though it may seem strong, we promise that this devilish concoction is totally drinkable and filled with tropical flavors.

Fun drink fact
Nobody really knows where the word Cocktail came from
Etymologists arenât really sure where the word âcocktailâ comes from, but its first appearance seems to be in a British newspaper in 1798.
Thereâs a theory that âcocktailâ represents the cocked tail of a perky horse, and is a nod to the fact that the first cocktails were intended to perk you up. Other suggestions involve the French for âeggcupâ (âcoquetierâ), a corruption of the 17th century English term âcock aleâ, or any other number of bizarre origins.
One particularly odd idea is that mixed drinks in Mexico were stirred with a chicken feather, a literal âcockâs tailâ.

Fun drink facts
Robert "Rosebud" Butt claims to have invented the Long Island iced tea as an entry in a contest to create a new mixed drink with triple sec in 1972 while he worked at the Oak Beach Inn on Long Island, New York.
A slightly different drink is claimed to have been invented in the 1920s during Prohibition in the United States by an "Old Man Bishop" in a local community named Long Island in Kingsport, Tennessee. The drink was then perfected by Ransom Bishop, Old Man Bishop's son. This drink included whiskey and maple syrup, and varied quantities of the five liquors, rather than the modern one with cola and five equal portions of the five liquors.

Ever wonder why she gets a little more wild after that bottle you just ordered ?
Women are more inclined to the effects of wine than men. This is partly because they have less enzymes in the stomach lining that is needed to break down alcohol simply.

Tonic contains a chemical called quinine (not to be confused with quinoa), which was originally used to treat malaria. When tonic is exposed to ultraviolet light, it fluoresces. ... In other words, the tonic water will shine. So, while gin itself isn't fluorescent, a G&T is the perfect glowing drink. Check out our app

Sunday drink Facts
Strongest Beer in the world
Steps aside, Bacardi 151. You donât need to reach for the hard stuff to get a good buzz.
All you need to do is visit Scotland and order a bottle of super-potent Snake Venom beer. Brewmeisterâs first version of the beer was 65% alcohol, and some people complained it wasnât strong enough.(3)
They released a new version with 67.5% alcohol, which seemed to satisfy the die-hards who really wanted to taste the alcohol. Itâs so strong it actually comes with a yellow health warning on the label!
Fun fact Sunday.
Multiple people claim to have concocted the very first margarita. The earliest and most widely-accepted account is from Carlos âDannyâ Herrera, who reportedly made it for a client at his Tijuana-area restaurant, Rancho La Gloria, in 1938. Rumor has it the customer, actress Marjorie King, was allergic to all hard liquor except tequila. To make it more palatable for her, Herrera added lime and Cointreau, salted the rim and called it a day
Sunday drink facts:
A man named Fernand Petiot claims to have invented the bloody mary in 1921 when he was working at the New York Bar (now Harryâs New York Bar) in Paris. The original recipe was just tomato juice and vodka, but Petiot came to bartend at New Yorkâs St. Regis Hotel years later and in 1934 he added salt, pepper, cayenne, Worcestershire sauce and lemon. In 1942, the now famous brunch drink was featured in Life magazine under the name âRed Hammer,â and then it was renamed, but itâs unclear after who. It could be Queen Mary I of England, actress Mary Pickford, a waitress named Molly (she worked at a bar called Bucket of Blood) or several others.
Fun facts for you guys. Tell us some that you know.
Fun fact Sunday. Your favorite treat as a kid would have given you quite the buzz if you consumed it in 1885.
