NEW STORE HOURS:

Beginning January 1st, our store hours will be 6AM to 8PM, 7 days per week, for the remainder of the winter.

We will be open on Christmas Day, 6AM to 9PM.

Many of our followers are aware of the fire that occurred early this morning, which completely destroyed a local Amish family’s barn. The barn was a total loss. There were also many animals inside the barn that perished in the fire.

We have been asked by several members of the community if we could do a Go-Fund-Me for this family. While we are happy to do this and we have done this in the past, we must first have the family’s “ok” to do it. This particular Amish family has requested that no fundraising be done by a computer (online). Therefore, a Go-Fund-Me account will not be set up.

The family is, however, aware that there are many good people out there who would like to help. They have requested that anyone wishing to send a card and/or donation please do so by mailing it directly to them.

They are also comfortable with us putting a donation box in our store where locals can drop off cards and/or donations. We will get a donation box set up tomorrow in the store.

We will be closing ONE HOUR earlier, with the new store hours being 6A to 8P…7 days per week.

We are making this post out of concern for the safety of our community. We are seeing an increasing number of vehicles running the stop signs at the intersection of Hwys V&M in Rice Lake WI, which is where our convenience store is located. These vehicles are not even attempting to slow down when approaching the intersection, they are running the stop signs at full speed.

We did reach out to GP Transco today after one of their semis disregarded the 3 stop grids in the road on Hwy V leading up to the 4-way stop, and blew through the stop sign at about 55mph!! Luckily the vehicles traveling north and south on Hwy M had come to a complete stop and did not proceed into the intersection. They could have been killed. The transport company informed us that they would have no way of knowing who the driver was without a license plate number. Unfortunately, our cameras cannot make out the license plate of a vehicle out on the road.

We have informed the sheriff’s department of this incident and we have informed them that we are seeing vehicles run the stop signs at this intersection almost daily.

We would like to urge our community to use caution when approaching this intersection, which is a 4-way stop. Please DO NOT proceed through the intersection until you are certain that any oncoming vehicles are going to stop!!
