We celebrate independence, smart, funny, forward thinking genius women daily in the shop. This year to kick off Women’s History Month we are excited to hilight some of our favorite women who make up our Craftland community!
is truly a gem of Providence, anyone who’s met her at the flea can attest! She’s sweet, super creative and makes beautiful t-shirts, cat toys, mugs, nightlight covers and masks that make people laugh and stand the test of time. Ryan is a staple of our Craftland family and we’ve been honored to join forces with this bad ass babe to give back! 🙌🏾❤️🙌🏾
Here’s a repost from to help share how we’ve joined forces!
I’ve spent so much of the past year sitting right here, at my sewing machine.
You may know me as a screen printer, maker of mugs, cat toys, and light switch plate covers. This past year, like many makers, I took on a new role: mask maker. Since then I’ve sewn upwards of 2,500 masks, some donated and some sold. Starting last April has offered my masks with a portion of the proceeds going to the RI Coalition for the Homeless. I’m proud to say we’ve raised almost $950 for them, all while helping those in our community stay safe. But honestly, the mental health benefit has been a huge win for me; having something to keep me busy (hi, i live alone and it turns out my cat only speaks the language of dirty looks), something positive to contribute during a very tough time.
Anyway, thanks for reading this and thanks for wearing your mask (even if I didn’t make it, even if you’ve already been vaccinated, especially if the leaders in your community are telling you it’s ok to stop when it’s actually. totally. not). The daydream of ‘normal’ life returning is starting to feel more real everyday and I can’t wait to hug you all on the other side.
PS thanks to for the pattern/tutorials and for doing so much to help distribute donated masks. 😘👏🏼
