Rooted was founded in 2017, by Travis Smith, with a focus on lesser known regions and varieties, the so-called "Godforsaken Grapes" if you will. Currently they are representing wineries out of Hungary, France, and Spain. Travis intends on keeping the book small, with handcrafted producers. Family owned, environmentally conscious farming, natural winemaking techniques, & most importantly they offer something unique and completely needed in the wine market.

South Africa —first visit, Avondale. 🌈🍷Biodynamic growers. A farm. A family. A true Joy. What a day at Avondale, we nicknamed Narnia, it is so majestic. A place where the soil takes charge. We have been to many wineries, we have heard and loved many stories of the vineyards. Avondale is 100% about the soil, they focus on the soll first, not the vines or grapes. Planting cover crops of legumes, radishes, turnips, whatever the different blocks need to create a healthy ecosystem. Using ducks to eat bugs and other natural predators 🐣🦆

Cyclus: A blend of Roussanne, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Semillon grapes. Rich and round, yet with wildy cool acidity and minerality. WAIT FOR IT!!! 🍑🌸🍇

Qvevri: The Avondale Qvevri is a red blend of Grenache (50%), Syrah (26%) and Mourvèdre (24%) grapes that are made in the unique clay Qvevri vessels. Avondale was the first South African wine farm to utilise Qvevri in their winemaking. These ancient clay vessels from Georgia date back over 8000 years. They allow the wine to breathe as it ferments and ages in the clay, resulting in a beautiful brightness of fruit and minerality. 🍷🍇❤️

I chose this wine because Butter is baller and this is brand new! You can't go wrong with a good Cabernet, and this one does not disappoint. It is everything you'd expect it to be, large and in charge.

St Romedius White California Table Wine --RACHEL HENRY
50% Chardonnay, 25% Tocai Friulano & 25% Dry Muscat Canelli. This Friuli inspired white made by a husband and wife team in Napa is so intriguing and uber quaffable! Aromas of tropical and stone fruit with a lush palate and refreshing mineral notes that linger on the palate. The Tocai and Dry Muscat have such fun fruit and zip! It’s fresh and fun with enough body to stand up to many flavors of food, but lively enough to start the day and enjoy a glass while cooking or snacking on crackers and cheese. We always have Pinot on Thanksgiving! I am so excited to share this 2019 Failla Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast with my family this year. It has a beautiful nose of rose petals and bright red fruits. It is medium-bodied with enough weight to stand up to rich stuffings, turkey and homemade cranberry sauces as well as my personal favorite canned Ocean Spray. Grabbed four bottles for our small gathering because everyone loves leftovers!

Lieu Dit Cabernet Franc, Santa Ynez Valley, CA----LAURA ZIMMERMAN
Cabernet Franc from Happy Canyon Vineyard, on the East side of Santa Ynez in Santa Barbara, BUT if you close your eyes, do you taste Loire Valley? I can't stop thinking about this wine! Deliberately picked 2- 3 weeks early, this wine is energetic, silky and aromatic. Juicy red fruits, black cherries, lavender, earth spice and that classic peppery note we all love in CF. Lower in alcohol and full of fresh, lively acidity. Big enough to stand up to all the traditional Thanksgiving flavors, with enough acidity to cut through the gravy and darker meats, either Turkey or a roast! (Natural)

During a feast you drink a feasting wine! Riesling is the quintessential food wine because of its acid and versatility! Being from the Wachau in Austria, the acidity on this one is laser focused and will cut through fats and rich flavors or compliment any vegetable side! This Riesling is so flipping good that it can convert red drinkers to white and Riesling haters to lovers!
