When Antha first met Astridās Mom, she let on that Astridās childhood dream was to open a cafe and be a working artist. Weirdly, Anthaās 8th grade career project was on ābeing living artā and opening a cafe, complete with a sketch wearing an apron and serving the community: which is exactly how Astrid met them for the first time, cheffing at a Q***r bar, where we came into the espresso machine from the legendary iconic ROXY.
A year after we lost our bar space downtown, we were dreaming of live-above properties, and less than a month later, Astrid had seen the perfect one for us, subletting from Apothecary Wellness Cafe on Mississippiāand the concept for Beauxdega was born, because itās never ājust a cafeā with us. And how weird that after we named it, we found out that the root word for bodega was apothekeāWILD. It came faster than we thought, but Antha set up the tour anyway. And we signed the lease last night! Meant to be. Welcome to the world Beauxdega

Beauxdega is a tiny shop with a big heart & a bigger impact: a love letter to our controversial city.
Serving the North Portland community, preserving legacies, platforming local culture makers, advocating for tourism and local arts.
Making sure that the people who popularized the city donāt get priced out entirely while we rep and rebuild our home.
Tasty, creative, alternative, and stylish. Slinging coffee, Afro-Latin fusion food, hot and cold drinks, local works, convenience items. Providing a place to stop in and enjoy the community feeling embodied by bodega-culture.
