Today is the bittersweet day that I hand off POC Liquor Store to the more than capable hands of the Texas Liquor owners, whom I'm proud to call my friends. ❤️

It is with a humble heart and positive outlook that I must announce the sale of POC Liquor Store. Although this is a bittersweet moment for me, I know that my business is moving into some amazing hands! Angie and Shawn Clarke currently own three Texas Liquor locations in Victoria, and they are adding POC as their fourth. They are going to take good care of the legacy that my dad and I have built: the employees, the distribution business, and most of all, I know for a fact that they are going to take care of the most important thing – YOU!

As customers who love this location, do not fret! Many things will remain the same, but many things will change for the better that I was not capable of making happen as a one-woman show. Angie and Shawn have some freakishly awesome plans!! If you don’t know them yet, you are going to absolutely love them when you meet them, and I know the vision that they have for this store is going to blow some of you away (in a good way)! This is a couple that my dad not only would have shaken hands with but also shared a beer with and hugged goodbye. I am excited for the future of the business!

Full transparency: we are currently in the “waiting game” stage of licensing. This could take days or weeks, but once TABC issues the new license, mine becomes invalid the next day. Make sure you come in and get some of the cups, shot glasses, and decal stickers we have left with our logo – they are about to be POC collectors’ items! Thank you for supporting me during the final countdown of my ownership!

Thank you, Port O’ Connor, for your patronage of POC Liquor throughout the past 11.5 years. My dad and I could not have been successful without those who have blessed us with their presence and support. I encourage you to continue to support Angie and Shawn as they are one of the few independent owners left in the area (and still the most “local” owners in town.) They have my full blessing and I know they would’ve had Noral McCauley's.

Friends, this is an effort to help Christina Morales of the POC Post Office. She is in need of mostly waters but also powdered drink mixers (pink lemonade, etc.), paper towels, toilet paper, dish washing liquid, medical tape, and gauze pads. I am designating my store as a drop-off location (10am-9pm) for this week, and I will personal deliver her all of the donated items on Easter Sunday, April 9th.

In case you haven't heard, the other store in town has sold to someone from even further out of town/county, etc. several months ago, they just didn't change the name. We truly appreciate all of our customers who shop local. Your money is like a vote. It is a vote of confidence that keeps our little family dream alive. Keeping your vote casted on a local business means ensuring the livelihood of several local people, and we truly appreciate you driving the extra few blocks to come and see us!
