Epigone Château Vieux Verdot Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2014

This Merlot based red blend is from the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru AOC. Epigone is the French word for an artist’s successor, and this special cuvée from Guillaume Clemenceau’s Château Vieux Verdot is living up to the tribute to his winemaking mentor and father’s legend.

He and his team selected hand harvested, estate grown parcels of merlot and cabernet franc to craft this elegant, balanced and silky smooth grand cru. In the glass look forward to vibrant red fruit such as bright raspberry, tart cherry, fig, cassis, and loads of earthy and toasted spice.

Pairing perfection for this Bordeaux blend? Definitely a creamy mushroom risotto. 🍷
