As many of you know Summerfield Market is listed for Sale. John, my father and owner of the business, will be 81 this summer, and I am only a couple of years away from retirement age. The business is listed with Karen Norton, and we would like to be able to sell to someone from the community if possible. We have owned the store for over 40 years, and are only the fourth family to own the business since its creation sometime in the 1940’s. We feel this business is an important part of the community, and the history of our town. I wont lie, running a store is not easy, it takes a lot of work, lots of time and dedication to be successful. It can also be very rewarding. I'm sure many of you have noticed we were closed early today. durring the 40 years we have been in business this has never happened before. We are living in unprecedented times. Doing business during a pandemic can be complicated. I have tested positive for the Covid 19 virus. Got the news today. Our first priority is to keep our customers and employees safe. We are getting all our workers tested, and doing a deep clean of the store. We will reopen safely asap! Sorry for the inconvenience, thank you for your patience during this very stressful time.
