A full moon rising as the sun melts into the horizon.
We experience some of the most beautiful sunsets. Our wedding timelines include time for the newly married couple to go out for sunset photos. These unique photos do not disappoint.

Snow Day/Date Day at the farm. Chuck and I work many long hours at the venue. We also spend hours mowing and keeping up the land.
While we enjoy hosting weddings and events, one of our favorite activities is taking moments to savor the beauty of the farm, especially during down time. We often sit on the farthest hill of the property.
Personally, I enjoy walking the entire 79 acres in the snow. We carved out time a few days ago to do just that. We held hands and admired nature while talking about life. We laid in the snow and stared at the clouds. We prayed.
We laughed. We walked quietly.
The simplest time spent together as a couple can lead to the most memorable experiences.
Remember to continue to make time for each other, whether you are married one year or 20 years ( us ❤️).

The Wedding Meadow at Fireflies Farm offers beautiful views, open spaces and a blank canvas ready for your visions.
From florist designed hooks and pails, stunning vases, arbor draping to bride designed plants and whiskey barrels adorned with florals to a cross draped with beautiful florals and flowing material to an aisle lined with pumpkins and mums… the Wedding Meadow is your serene and memorable space to exchange vows.
We include use of
large vases, urns, platform columns, cross, shepherd hooks and pails, whiskey barrels, chavari chairs and benches with venue rental.

Whether the roads are icy and temps are 0 or it is 100 degrees, we take care of our donkey-Billy, Mule-Socks, and Cat-Stormy everyday.
Personally, if it is sunny, I walk to the pasture to enjoy the beauty.

While Socks waits at the gate, Billy greets me. It makes the effort worthwhile.

TRADITIONS…
Chuck and I make time to look at Christmas lights at least twice during the season. The nights are low key, fun date nights. One of the nights, we dress in our PJs, take large festive cups of homemade hot cocoa and a treat and sing along to Christmas songs on the radio or my playlist. The ritual is a highlight of our holidays. ❤️🤍💚

Chuck and I enjoy looking back this time of year at our farm/event venue journey. There are times we are in awe to see brides stand in postcard perfect photos of where blight once stood. One of the most frequent heard comments during a venue tour is love and attention to detail were poured into this place. There couldn’t be a truer statement as far as heart and soul go. The incredible workers to the amazing team now all have touched this space with a touch of love. We hope you like seeing the what was to the what is photos.
We are accepting tours for a few available 2025 dates and 2026 dates.

Our love began as friendship 23 years ago. A mutual fondness and careers in top level sports at the time (baseball and stock car racing), forged a 1000 mile cross country bond. A work visit to Kansas City for the inaugural event at Kansas Speedway led to friendships, which led to mine and Chuck’s initial meeting months later. We became friends, sharing information about our long work filled days and our careers during extensive phone calls. We listened to each other discuss family, likes and dislikes or fun places we had visited and people met.
At the end of year one, we both realized our hearts were much more invested than “just friends”. We dated for a year. I worked (traveled) approximately 42-43 weeks a year. His schedule was filled February until September/October. Fortunately, we both enjoyed the same down time each year.
Fast forward to 2004. We married at the First Baptist Church, built in the 1820’s, located in Charleston, SC.
Our lives have been and continue to be blessed. We are surrounded by family and friends. We experienced events only a select few get to do. Our story is filled with love and happiness, but is also pierced with heartache.
The desire to build a dream almost defeated us, but determination, dedication, and bravery kept us moving forward. Our past fast paced days are now filled with long hours at the farm. We enjoy assisting couples uniting in marriage. Our hope for them is a lifetime of love and memories and making dreams come true together.
We opened one year ago. The year was filled with meeting wonderful couples and their friends/families, helping plan and experience lovely weddings. The team at Fireflies Farm is amazing. They have become part of our family.
We also dealt with a learning curve and an extremely difficult loss. Through the past 20 years, Chuck and I have done it all side by side. We look forward to the future and our next adventure.
