We held our annual end of the year celebration this last Friday. With thousands of patients cared for this year, it was a great opportunity to get together away from the ambulances and the office and celebrate our amazing EMS professionals. Their continued dedication to the Bay County community is what leads to our success. More importantly, it leads to all of our patients receiving the care they need at a moments notice. We are proud of each and every one of them. Check out the captions on the photos and join us in congratulating all of them on a great 2024! We will see ya next year!

It's not just an obligatory Thanksgiving post. It's a crew appreciation post! We are thankful for all of our hard working EMS professionals. They spent the day taking care of the community and we made sure they still got to enjoy a home cooked meal for the holiday. The room was full of laughter and back and forth banter. As the plates were cleared away, they went back out to the ambulances and picked up right where they left off. Their dedication is inspiring and we are lucky that each and every one of them is here with us. We hope everyone in Bay County had a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

As our nation celebrates Veterans Day, we want to thank our in house veterans for all they have done for their country and everything they continue to do for the Bay County community. They provide care and compassion at a moments notice and they embody what it means to truly commit to a life of service to others. We could not be more proud to work along side of every last one of them.

October 28th was National 1st Responder Appreciation Day. Our crews came in to the station yesterday to find a delicious assortment of donuts courtesy of the Zawarhy Firm. They were absolutely amazing. We shifted gears for a lunch invite at The Blake at PCB. This was a great opportunity for our EMS professionals to engage with the residents in a way we rarely get to. While they continued to say "Thank you" to us, we feel like we need to sound off with an even louder THANK YOU to them and the entire Bay County community for allowing us to serve you!

Hurricane Helene is almost here. We hope everyone is prepared and ready to stay safe throughout this storm. If you are in an area that an evacuation order is in effect for, please follow the guidance! Do not wait until landfall to leave. We do not yet know exactly how much of an impact this storm will have, but we are prepared for the worst. All across the region, EMS agencies and fire departments have increased staffing and availability to care for the entire panhandle. Our parent company, Global Medical Response, has activated nearly 1,000 EMS providers along with ambulances, paratransit vehicles, and air medical helicopters to support our great state after the storm. These amazing providers are staged throughout the state to allow for rapid deployment to affected areas. While we hope that they will not be needed on a large scale, they are ready to go at a moments notice! Stay safe today and take care of your family, friends, and neighbors in the days that follow. This community knows how to do that and is truly Bay Strong!

Caring for our community sometimes looks a little different. For the last few years, we have had the privilege of providing medical standby services to the IFL. While we always hope for a safe fight night that is free of injuries, we are there to render care at a moments notice. A huge thanks to the promoter for continuing to put their trust in us! We also have to give a huge shout out to the physicians on scene. Working side by side with some talented docs helps ensure these athletes get the best care possible!

Do you have an event that requires Paramedics or EMTs to be on site for the safety of your guests? Give us a call so we can ensure you get the right level of service!

We have been awake since before the sun came up today training our new Paramedics and EMT on safe vehicle operations. Every time we get behind the wheel of one of our ambulances, we make a commitment to the community to be as safe as we can possibly be. That commitment starts with the foundation we are providing today! Our Feild Training Officers, EMT Amanda C. and EMT Shawn T. take this job to heart. Their dedication to safety is unmatched and we could not be successful without them! The best part of the day, trying not to hit the cones on the course!

We spend every day(and night) serving our Bay County community. When our friends at St Andrews Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehab reached out and asked us to participate in their back to school event, we couldn't say no! Our Operations Captain Stewart Eubanks loaded up the grill this morning and spent the afternoon cooking burgers and hotdogs for the public as well as the residents at St Andrews. It was an absolute honor to be of service to everyone.

The kids had the right idea! While all the adults were baking in the hot Florida sun, the little ones were cooling off with water fights and bouncing their hearts out in the bounce house. Any kiddo that showed up today that was in need of back to school supplies or backpacks were given those items free of charge. What a great event.

So what was the highlight of the day? One of the residents came for a fresh burger and asked "How much do these cost" and was quickly met with the reply, "Only a smile". She asked the same question 3 times and got the same response each time. And each time, she paid with an even bigger smile. Our hearts are full today!!!

We had a special guest in the office on Friday. Dan stopped in to provide a block of instruction for our paramedics on vent operations and troubleshooting common problems with critical respiratory patients. Over the last 2 months, all of our paramedics have been going through additional training on managing ventilator patients. We want to ensure they not only understand how to use the vent, but have a true appreciation for the WHY behind their treatments. A huge shout out to Dan for helping bridge that gap and make our EMS professionals more confident in their skills and abilities.

Many of us will have today off from work. The day will be filled with BBQs and family time. We wish everyone in our community a safe Memorial Day. It is important that we remember the reason we have this time today. Countless brave American men and women made a choice to put on a military uniform and stand up for something. In countries far from home, they laid down their lives for the promise of a better world. A free world. Many came home broken and not who they used to be. Some lost their battle with the unseen scars left behind from war. Today we keep them all in our thoughts and we remember them, their sacrifice, and the families that now have an empty seat at their table.

We promised we were going to end this week with a bang and we delivered! From 10am to 2pm today, we hosted a blood drive with OneBlood and a pet adoption event with Bay County Animal Control and Operation Spay Bay. We fired up the grill and kept the fresh food rolling the whole time. In total, 14 people stopped by the Big Red Bus and made a donation. On the furry side of our parking lot, 3 doggies and 2 kittens found their FUREVER homes. Yay!!! Happy faces and wagging tails was just what we needed today.

Our friends from Bay County, Florida Emergency Services also stopped in on us and it was our absolute pleasure to feed their EMS professionals along side of our own folks throughout the day. We lost count of how many folks stopped by in total, and that made us super happy! We think we are gonna have to do this all over again! Keep an eye out for the next event and we hope to see you there!

Today is all about food on the run! For those of us in EMS, we know that a quick meal is sometimes required. So, we decided to step up the game a bit. Food on a toothpick just feels fancy, even if it isn't. The true highlight of the day however, was when Lt Aaron Carter stopped by the station for a visit. You can tell by his footwear that he is on the mend, but he's still up and moving and that makes us so happy! Even better, we had his 5 year pin and certificate waiting for him when he showed up. Aaron has been an amazing part of the Lifeguard team and his hard work and dedication has led to our longevity in Bay County. A special THANK YOU goes out to Aaron today and we wish him a speedy recovery! We look forward to seeing him back in the uniform and out serving the community he loves!

Today was our Think Green Thursday. We served up healthy options with some delicious and fresh salads. Then we thought, salads are great, but TACOS are still better. So we served up both! By the end of the day, we had gone through 2 huge trays of salad and almost completely exhausted our taco supply. That let's us know we had some happy EMS professionals out running around town serving their community.

The week is rounding out with only 2 days left of celebration, and we are gonna end it strong. If you follow our page, you should have seen the post about our Saturday event. We will have OneBlood on site from 10am to 2pm for blood donations. Make an appointment with them, or simply take a walk in slot. Bay County Animal Control will also be on site from 10am to 2pm hosting a pet adoption drive with some help from Operation Spay Bay. We will have pups and kittens looking for a FUREVER home and they will need lots of cuddles from our guests. And of course, we will be cooking up burgers and hotdogs on the grill for anyone that stops in. We hope to see you there at our 1430 Harrison Ave location in beautiful Panama City!

***Pet Adoption! Blood donation! BBQ! ***

We are just two days away from our pet adoption/blood donation/BBQ event. If you are looking g for something to do THIS SATURDAY from 10am to 2pm, this is it. Every day, our EMS professionals get a chance to have a positive impact in the lives of a complete stranger. Now, it's your turn! Stop in and meet up with our friends from OneBlood and give the gift of life. A $20 gift card and an awesome tshirt will be handed out to all those who donate.

At the same time, Bay County Animal Control will be bringing out some cuddly friends that are looking for a FUREVER home. Even if you can't adopt, just interacting with these future best friends will help them be better adjusted when they finally go to their new home. So come give them some cuddles!!! Spay Bay has also graciously provided some vouchers for low cost/no cost spay and neuter services. Help control the Bay County pet population and help our shelter stay at lower capacity. It's a win win all around.

To make the trip down to the station completely worth it, we will be grilling up all sorts of food which will be COMPLETELY FREE for anyone that stops in. Our skilled CPR instructors will also be teaching hands only CPR to anyone that wants to learn how to save a life when seconds matter. We can't wait to see some of the community we love come out to support all these great causes as we wrap up our EMS Week celebrations!
